High-end high street brands that will luxe up your wardrobe
The finest fashion brands you need to know about

By Charlie Bell
Whether you're looking to create a capsule wardrobe or you're treating yourself to a statement piece, these high-end high street brands will give your outfit a premium upgrade.
As much as we love a good bargain, sometimes it's nice to splash out on a proper investment piece, especially if we're looking for garms that will stand the test of time.
For this, we turn to the high-end high street brands to get that designer-worthy look at a more high-street price. They may not be budget-friendly but they won't break the bank either, hitting that sweet spot in-between the two.
And if you shop carefully, you're guaranteed to get more bang for your buck as these pieces are top quality so are likely to last a lot longer than fast fashion pieces.
With that in mind, we've rounded up all the best luxe brands and our favourite new-in pieces from each one.
The Fashion Team's Edit of High-End High Street
Baukjen
Baukjen is a London-based womenswear brand with sustainability at its core, helping us to look and feel good about our purchases. Their designs are timeless, with a cool unique edge, putting their own stamp on each piece. Sure to be firm favourites in your wardrobe for years to come.
Joy Pant
£89, Baukjen
We’ll admit we’re all living in loungewear right now but that doesn’t mean we have to settle for scruffy. These rainbow trousers are guaranteed to boost your mood and your wardrobe. Featuring an elasticated waist for extra comfort and a tapered fit, wear with trainers and a hoody to elevate your off-duty getup.
Irene Dress
£139, Baukjen
A ready-made outfit, minus the effort, a printed midi dress is a no-brainer and this one is made from LENZING™ ECOVERO™, making it eco-friendly too. It has a relaxed shape and balloon sleeves for a comfy, yet chic finish. Wear with stompy boots and a leather jacket for an achingly cool look.
Maya Organic Shirt
£99, Baukjen
A classic boyfriend shirt is a wardrobe essential and this one comes with a stripe on the sleeve for added interest. The oversized style is perfect for wearing over leggings for a smart, yet chic working-from-home uniform. It’s made from 100% organic cotton too so the quality is top notch.
Kitri
Kitri is our go to place to add something a little bit special to our wardrobes. The London based brand was born out of a frustration of not being able to find well-made, distinctive designs that don't cost a fortune. Their bold and colourful pieces will be sure to add a touch of luxury to your wardrobe.
Reese Red Animal Sweater
£95, Kitri
Jazz up your jeans and jumper combo with these bold knit, guaranteed to lift any look. Wear with vintage denim and a blazer for a smart weekend getup. It has a relaxed, boxy fit and crafted from a wool blend for ultimate snugness.
Elly Black Daisy Print Dress
£155, Kitri
If you’re looking for a fancy frock, with a vintage twist, look no further. We love the 60’s inspired floral print on this beauty. Teamed with flared sleeves and a floaty skirt, it’s a winner. Add to basket now and wear when all those party invites start rolling in.
Apollo Emerald Satin Feather Trousers
£125, Kitri
Add some luxe to your loungewear with this silky pair. The rich emerald hue teamed with a feathery flourish makes them real show-stoppers. Team with the matching PJ-style top and a pair of strappy sandals and take your look from pyjamas to party.
Hush
Hush is about relaxed dressing at its best and has been slowly amassing a loyal following for a couple of years now. Their laidback designs are the perfect solution to our current isolation fashion dilemma. The brand was founded in 2003 by Mandy Watkins, an Aussie who after moving to the UK decided to start her own label when she couldn't find clothes she wanted to buy. Hush's signature style is cosy stay-at-home pieces to escape from the British weather. Having begun its journey with loungewear, what better brand to help dress us through lockdown than Hush?
Ione Denim Trench Coat
£129, Hush
Upgrade your daytime denim with this oh-so-stunning trench coat. A trench is an in-between weather staple and the denim finish on this beauty gives it a cool, modern update. The belt cinches you in at the middle for a flattering silhouette. Layer over sweater and jeans for weekend walks.
Washed Utility Jumpsuit
£110, Hush
No longer a fad, jumpsuits have cemented themselves in our wardrobes and they’re a go-to choice for those ‘nothing to wear’ days. For easy daytime sophistication, opt for this chic utility style. A relaxed fit in a classic khaki hue, finish off with biker boots.
Lightning Relaxed T-Shirt
£35, Hush
Add more bang to your basics (literally) with this fun lightning bolt tee. Made from organic cotton, it’s super soft against the skin and can be teamed with anything from jeans to joggers. Wear under a blazer and trouser combo for a fashion-forward look.
Whistles
One of the most premium brands on the high street, Whistles' collections always feature right at the top of our wish-lists. Although you can pay up to £700 for a dress from their bridal collection, some of their pieces are much more reasonably priced and will last you for years.
Tie Dye Bias Skirt
£89, Whistles
Nineties tie dye is back on the fashion grid and the playful print gives us major summer vibes. This bias skirt has an elasticated waistband for added comfort and is cut to a midi length. Team with a pair of kicks for a casual vibe that looks effortlessly cool.
Panelled Leather Shirt
£249, Whistles
If you’re looking for an investment piece, then this smart leather shirt will do just the trick. Crafted from soft leather in a pop of red it’s a hardworking wardrobe piece and can be worn buttoned up over jeans or left open as an overshirt.
Authentic Slim Frayed Jean

Anthropologie is the number one creative destination for unique wardrobe finds. The brand's mantra is to inspire everyone to live and dress beautifully. Right now, we could all do with a bit of colour and inspiration injected into our lives.
Eleanor Geometric Print Kimono Jacket
£98, Anthropologie
Give your look a boho vibe with this pretty kimono. Super versatile, throw over a basic jeans and tee combo or layer over a bikini and denim shorts when summer hits. Keep the rest of your outfit simple and let it steal all the attention.
Textured Asymmetric Midi Dress
£140, Anthropologie
Get ready to turn heads in this statement frock. The hot pink hue and touch-me texture makes it a real standout piece, ideal for special occasions. Equally, dress it down with sandals and wear on your summer hols too. You won’t want to take it off.
Misty Striped Rainbow Collar Jumper
£90, Anthropologie
With its preppy collar and rainbow stripe, this cheery sweater is making us smile just looking at it. Perfect for brightening up grey days, we’ll be wearing ours on repeat until the sun decides to show its face.
& Other Stories
& Other Stories is as an elegant and modern one-stop styling destination. The Swedish brand draws its inspiration from Paris, Stockholm and Los Angeles to produce stylish staples that feel timeless and cool.
Long Belted Knit Cardigan
£120, & Other Stories
This long-length cardi is the closest thing to wrapping ourselves in a dressing gown and we’re fully onboard. The built-in belt gives it a flattering finish, pulling you in at the waist and the wool-blend fabric makes it oh-so-cosy. Team with similar shades for a tonal look.
Square Toe Heeled Leather Sandals
£85, & Other Stories
As well as its cool and contemporary clothing, & Other stories are nailing the accessories too. We love these simple, yet elegant mules, guaranteed to go with everything. The square toe gives them a modern update whilst the rectangular heels makes them comfy for everyday wear.
Sleeveless Midi Dress
£85, & Other Stories
This sleeveless frock is the perfect layering piece. Wear over a fitted roll neck for extra warmth and swap for a basic tee in the summer. It hugs your figure for a sleek silhouette. Balance the proportions and wear with a chunky cardigan and stompy boots.
Cos
As part of the H&M group, COS is a Swedish brand that focuses on core wardrobe pieces that last. It’s key messaging is to ‘buy better, keep forever’ so if you’re looking to build your capsule wardrobe, it’s a good place to start. Their clothing is unfussy, contemporary and will stand the test of time.
Oversized Double Breasted Wool Blazer
£150, Cos
A blazer can elevate any outfit, adding a tailored twist to the most casual of looks. We’re drawn to this sunny number for a much-needed lift. Made from a wool mix it has a boxy, oversized fit. Add a feminine twist and wear over a floaty dress and barely-there heels.
