FAQs
How does Treatwell work?
If you’ve ever used Opentable to bag a restaurant table or ClassPass to book into a cool new yoga studio, Treatwell will feel like familiar territory. Simply open the app or website, and browse by treatment type, salon name, and location, or appointment times. Once you pick your service and salon, you can check live availability to find a convenient time, pick a beauty therapist (if you have a preference) and book in. Payment is taken at this point to secure the booking, either using a card or Apple Pay. Treatwell automatically remembers the names of your favorite treatments and salons so you can book them again quickly and recommends well-reviewed spots close to your location.
Is Treatwell only in the UK?
No, as well as the United Kingdom, Treatwell is available in 13 countries across Europe including Spain, France, Italy, The Netherlands, Portugal, and many more. You can find the full list of regions and browse salons close to you on the Treatwell website.
Can you tip on Treatwell?
You currently cannot tip through the Treatwell app. This is because payment is taken in advance for treatments to secure bookings, so the amount is fixed at the cost of the service. If you do choose to tip, you can do this on the day, just as you would if you had booked directly with the salon.
What did Treatwell used to be called?
Long-time users may remember that Treatwell actually started life with another name. The service was founded in 2008 by tech entrepreneur Lopo Champalimaud, under the name Wahanda in the UK. As the company grew and spread into new countries, Wahanda acquired a German competitor called Treatwell in 2015 and In 2016 decided to roll out the name Treatwell across all regions to create one aligned business.
Can I gift someone a Treatwell gift card?
You can indeed buy gift cards at Treatwell and it's a great present for any pamper-lovers out there. A gift card price starts from £15 up to £250, so plenty of cost options depending on what your budget is. It's worth noting that you can't use a Treatwell discount code to lower the cost of a gift card.
Hints & Tips
Using Treatwell discount codes is just one of the ways you can save money while booking beauty treatments, try these tips too:
Scroll the deals carousel: With thousands of salons available to book on Treatwell, many of them will be running promotions at any given time so there’s always a deal to be had. If you are a user of the app, the latest offers are handily laid out for you on the TW Explore tab, in a carousel called Find The Best Deals. You can switch between the type of treatment you are looking for, from massage to hair removal and nails, and the app uses your location to show you salons running deals in your area. Handy!
Save 15% on first-time bookings: Treatwell offers percentage-off incentives to both new users of the app and existing users who want to try a new salon. Newly registered users can enjoy 15% off their first booking over £45, while those who give a newly registered salon a spin can also save 15% on the cost of their service. You can browse new salons on the New Salon Discount tab at treatwell.co.uk to find beauty locations local to you offering this deal.
Get deals with newsletter sign-ups: Treatwell’s newsletter is packed with treatment trends, inspiration, and ways to save money when booking salon services on the app. Previous subscriber-only exclusive offers have included £10 off your next booking as well as round-ups of salons participating in sitewide offers. Signing up is free, simply fill in your name, email address, and postcode and check a box to ‘opt in’ to receive marketing emails.
Book off-peak: Many salons on Treatwell offer lower prices on last-minute bookings or at off-peak times such as weekdays or weekend mornings. So, if you can be flexible on time, this is a savvy way to save. You can find off-peak treatments by looking out for the blue percentage symbol against a salon’s listing on the Treatwell homepage or beside specific treatments within a salon’s treatment menu. Most last-minute discounts range between 10-30% so it’s worth keeping an eye out for these.

What to book at Treatwell
Beauty treatments are a very personal choice – one woman’s must-have maintenance is another’s ‘not worth the faff’ no-go (looking at you, spray tans and eyelash extensions). However, if you are looking for inspiration on what to try with your Treatwell voucher code, you could do worse than look at the latest treatment trends.
Biab nails are growing in popularity and are well worth a try if you want longer nails without acrylic extensions. This gel builder service is cured on much like a classic gel manicure, but boosts the strength of the natural nail and lasts up to four weeks.
Booking in for a haircut? The ‘90s are very much back with bob hairstyles and layers proving to be the most prominent 2023 hair trends. Check out styles such as the box bob and oval layer haircut if you want to dip a toe in the trend.
Or, if you want to indulge yourself with a facial, the Hydrafacial is one of our beauty editor’s top skin treatments of all time. This A-list treatment, available nationwide at many salons and clinics, deeply exfoliates the skin and then floods it with hydration and vitamin-packed serums for a megawatt glow.
