Why you can trust Woman & Home

Finding the perfect swimwear is like searching for a needle in a haystack - there are so many styles to choose from. I'm always on the lookout for a great-fitting swimsuit. To me, that means one I can put on and forget about - safe in the knowledge that it's going to support my bust, hold my tummy in and cover me up in all the right places.
I've been a fashion editor for over 25 years and have been lucky enough to have styled more swimwear shoots than I've had hot holidays! Models usually have the confidence to wear whatever you ask them to, but I've also dressed lots of women who aren't as confident, and ask my advice on the best styles to look for.
The key is to find flattering swimwear for your body shape. It may be that you need the best swimsuits for large busts or are looking for the best tummy control swimsuits. All that matters is feeling comfortable and relaxed in what you're wearing.
It doesn't matter what age you are, either; we all want to feel our best when we're on holiday or going for a swim in the local pool. My mum is 83 and swims twice a week - I've just bought her this swimsuit from Bonmarché and she loves it!

Magisculpt's swimsuits and bikinis are designed to offer various levels of support and control. They also have a range of the best shapewear, and many of those clever design details are used in their swimwear too. They have a wide selection of swimsuits, from firm control swim dresses to bandeau bikinis, in colours ranging from basic black to bright tropical prints.
I have an apple-shaped figure, and I was looking for a swimsuit that supported my bust and felt comfortable to swim in. Lots of swimsuits have underwires, much like the best bras for large busts, but I was keen to find a non-wired style that offered great support. I chose the Medium Control Contour Me Scalloped swimsuit - the bright blue shade and scalloped edging made it stand out. I wore the swimsuit for a couple of hours (including a 30-minute swim, to test performance in the water) and considered the level of support and comfort. Let's dive in...
Magisculpt Medium Control Contour Me Scalloped Swimsuit
Magisculpt Medium Control Contour Me Scalloped Swimsuit Review
Shape & Design
From the outside, this swimsuit looks simple, sleek and sporty. The fabric is textured and has a matte finish, which gives it an expensive look that you would usually expect from designer brands. Darts at the bust ensure that it fits smoothly without any wrinkles or gaping.
The scoop neckline isn't too deep, so my boobs were completely contained with just a tiny peek of cleavage. The fixed straps extend up from the body of the swimsuit and adjust at the back to tighten or lengthen for a comfortable fit. The back of the swimsuit scoops to just above my waistline, and the legs are a classic medium cut, giving full coverage.
Support & Fit
When you turn this swimsuit inside out you can immediately see why it looks so flattering on. The front is lined with a medium control mesh fabric that gives the swimsuit structure and helps to hold in and smooth over the tummy area. The back is lined with a soft fabric that is stretchy and light. The soft foam cups are fixed above a firm elasticated band that works like the most comfortable bras to give compressed support without the need for underwiring.
I wear a size 12 and I'm 5'6", and I would say this swimsuit fits true to size. I had the straps pulled up to their tightest, so if you are long in the bod,y you will benefit from being able to lengthen them for a more comfortable fit.
Comfort
As long as you are wearing the right size, there is nothing about this swimsuit that would cause any discomfort. The straps are soft and stretchy so they didn't dig in or slip down from my shoulders. The swimsuit performed well in the pool - I felt secure while swimming, and the fabric didn't sag when wet. Top marks for comfort!
Care
After swimming, I popped the swimsuit into my machine on a quick cool wash and there was no change in the quality or colour of the fabric. The fabric is fairly thick, so it did take a while to air dry.
Verdict
I loved this swimsuit - it made me feel confident and was comfortable to wear. The power mesh lining really did work - holding in my tummy and smoothing over my lumps and bumps. Great colour too.
