The Oscar-winning actress debuts an elegant new 'do while on holiday with friends.
From Hollywood waves to bold, pink pixie cuts, Dame Helen Mirren has given us much hair inspiration over the years.
Her latest look is one of her most elegant yet. Earlier this week, the Oscar-winning actress revealed a new cut via Instagram, sharing her sleek bob and full fringe with followers on Monday.
Helen, 72, showcased her elegant new do in a series of photos taken on a recent trip to Berlin with friends.
The first picture shows the star wearing a white belted dress with sleeves as she held hands with her Berlin-based hairdresser, Ayhan Isik.
The pair posed in front of Ayhan’s salon, with Helen joking, ‘I look like I am getting married. Actually I have just got a cool new haircut. Thank you’.
Helen continued to flaunt her fabulous new cut around the German capital, and shared a selfie of her shopping at a second-hand market with a takeaway bratwurst.
She completed her chic summer look with black sunglasses and red lipstick (we bet this didn’t last long after her bratwurst meal!)
The day finished with more delicious cuisine at a Turkish Restaurant in the German capital. In a picture taken with her two friends, Sandy and Sedef, Helen told her followers, 'I know it looks like all I do is eat, but I just have to let you know about this fantastic Turkish restaurant in Berlin’.
Wearing it both styled and more casual, Helen demonstrates that the bob is the ultimate versatile haircut for women of any age.
Not only is a bob suitable for most hair types, but it’s flattering on both round and angular face shapes, especially when paired with an eyebrow-skimming fringe. Add loose waves and change to an off-centre parting for a more summery style.
While it may feel drastic to part with that many inches, a shorter ‘do will make fine hair appear thicker and take years off. Will you brave the blunt bob like Helen and these other stunning celebrities?
Will you be trying out the style?
