“The SS22 catwalks are bursting with bright colors, XXL sizes, and OTT detailing, and jewelry is definitely following the ‘more-is-more’ approach," says Rich Simmons, Styling Manager, Stitch Fix UK. The spring/summer runways were brimming with eye-catching designs from bold and bright cocktail rings to statement gold chokers. Simple gold cuffs are back on the agenda too, worn on the upper arm for a modern update. We also spotted some stunning seaside-inspired pieces that made us long for sunny beach days. Luckily we don’t have to wait until summer—here are the top trends from the best jewelry brands that you can start weaving into your wardrobe immediately.
Biggest jewelry trends 2022
1. Plastic Fantastic
Dopamine dressing is a huge coat trend for 2022, so it’s no surprise that playful jewelry in bright colors has made a comeback too. Plastic rings started to make an appearance last year thanks to Gen Z and TikTok and it looks like they’re still reigning supreme if the Dior catwalk was anything to go by. A nod to the nineties, this youthful trend is fun, vibrant and best-of-all extremely budget-friendly. Who needs diamonds?

RRP: $25.99 / £15.99 | Worn together or separately these cute and colorful rings will make a cheery addition to your outfit. Wear with your favorite denim and a sporty sweater for a carefree and cool weekend look.
2. All Choked Up
The chocker is another nostalgic trend, but these are not the classic velvet chokers of two decades ago. This trend serves bling in two ways: the Lanvin runway show featured supersize pieces, whereas simple, sleek gold chains were seen at Valentino. "Spring is a fantastic time to embrace chokers, as most of us are switching out long sleeve tops in favor of shorter sleeves and exposed necklines. Whether you are choosing a delicate choker or a more statement piece, off-the-shoulder tops expose enough skin to really showcase your choker, in all its Y2K glory!" says Rich.
Perfect for jazzing up the best t-shirts, wear this one on your Zoom calls for maximum impact with minimal effort.

RRP: $69.99 / £49.99 | You won’t believe this catwalk-approved beauty is from budget-friendly store H&M. Guaranteed to turn some heads, it’s made from recycled brass. Wear with a simple tee or blouse.
3. Off the Cuff
Spotted on the Tory Burch and Fendi catwalks, arm cuffs were worn on the biceps for a new-season spin. Contemporary and cool, stick to elegant gold designs for a simple, effective look. Wear now and layer over a fine roll neck and swap for sleeveless shirts when the warmer weather hits.
"Team an upper arm cuff with a strappy or sleeveless maxi dress to create a relaxed and elegant seventies vibe, or team with a boxy strap top to create a more edgy look. Top tip: adding a cuff to your outfit will add depth to your outfit - as it’s higher up your arm and closer to your face than a regular bracelet, it will catch the eye more readily and expand the gaze beyond your clothing," says Rich.

RRP: $39 / £28 | This sleek 18k gold plated bangle features a stunning emerald green Swarovski crystal. Incredibly versatile, you can also snap up a version with a clear crystal.
4. Extra Extra!
Time to go bold, forget going home, and go out to turn some heads with large statement pieces. Swap your delicate layering necklaces for chunky chains, as seen on the Tom Ford runway. With earrings, bigger is better: look for shoulder-grazing styles with colorful gems. And don’t feel this look is just for parties—wear with your everyday capsule wardrobe and to work, to brunch and to everything in-between.
"The beauty of adding large, colorful jewelry to your outfit is that you can dress casually, in jeans and a tee, and still achieve a statement look. If you want to go for a more dramatic evening look, pop on a roll neck or cami (weather dependent!), tie your hair up, add some lipstick and finish off the outfit with your bold and bright earrings - voila!" explains Rich.
