Woman & Home Verdict

I really had to rack my brain to find a downside to these, and the only thing I could come up with is that I want even more colours than the selection on offer. Truly a game-changing pair of trainers.

It's fair to say I've tried a trainer or two in my time. At some point a decade or so ago, I stopped buying heels quite so obsessively and switched to trainers, and I haven't looked back.

The brand specialises in what they call "smart engineering for all-day energy". A woman&home favourite, I've had so many recommendations from colleagues about FitFlop's slippers, loafers, wellies and flip-flops over the years. I knew it was the place to shop for supportive, comfortable trainers, but somehow I'd never actually tried them for myself.

I'm lucky enough not to suffer from any issues like plantar fasciitis or arthritis, and I own some comfortable enough pairs of shoes. What's the odd blister every now and again, right? So I didn't think I was necessarily in need of any FitFlops. How wrong I was!

The FitFlop Dash trainers are brand new for 2026, and they are the perfect mix of style and comfort. I love the pop of colour the red and pink suede version adds to my everyday denim, and from the moment I put these on, I felt like I was walking on clouds.

FitFlop The Dash T-Toe Trainers: comfort & support

In the name of testing, I took these trainers to the V&A museum in London on the first wear. Ambitious, right? That's a full day of walking around, queuing for a sold-out exhibition, plus getting the tube there and back, as well as a quick look in the shops, just to really put them through their paces. I am good to you, dear readers.

I can honestly say there wasn't a second of rubbing or aching all day long, which is impressive. The soles felt springy - not at all like the flat soles you might be used to with fashion trainers, but still lightweight and sleek.

Here's the technical stuff if you're interested. According to the FitFlop website, the Dash trainers are "ergonomically engineered to help optimise your body's alignment, natural movement and energy". They boast a lightweight iQushion™ midsole with impact pillows and pressure-diffusing contours, as well as natural arch support and a durable rubber sole with impressive grip.

FitFlop Dash Trainers: Style

These trainers are reminiscent of similar trending styles by Gola, Veja or Onitsuka Tiger, so there's no question they're in fashion. The 'T-toe' shape at the front gets full marks from me, too.

Colour-wise, it feels like there's been a move away from the best white trainers recently towards bright, bold colours like the fiery orange-red shade I tested. White will always be a classic that you can wear with everything, but colourful options that lean into dopamine dressing are a great way to cheer up a grey day as we emerge from the winter months.

If you're not a big lover of logos, the double F on the side of these trainers might put you off at first, but I would say it's not super obvious that's what they are; it just looks like stripes.

They'll work with everything from summer dresses to transitional denim and even smart tailoring, so they're well worth investing in.

FitFlop Dash Trainers: cleaning & care

The FitFlop Dash trainers are available in both leather and suede. I tried the red and pink suede version, which might not feel entirely practical when the weather keeps threatening rain, but they're Scotchgard-protected. Seriously, FitFlop have thought of everything.

So far, my trainers have needed only a wipe when I've got any marks on them, and I'm impressed with how new they look every time I put them on.

FitFlop Dash Trainers: verdict

These really surprised me. I expected FitFlop trainers to be comfortable, but I honestly didn't I honestly didn't know shoes could be quite this comfortable. The Dash really is the whole package - stylish, versatile and a joy to wear.

The price is comparable to adidas Sambas, but you do get a lot more technology to support your foot. The suede finish feels so luxurious, and I think next on my list is the white leather version.

I'm certainly not the only fan, either. Check out these reviews from the FitFlop site:

"Bought these as a more smart trainer option for work and social. Super cute and really comfy! I have very wide feet and found them really suited to the width, often a wide fit shoe doesn’t feel wide enough but these do."

"I’ve always loved this style but other brands are just not comfortable for my feet. These are amazing - still look great but provide the support needed."

"I bought the red pair and they are so cute. Colour is almost flame not red but I still really like it. The usual quality that you get with fit flop is there!"

"Love these shoes. Highly recommend them for anyone who stands on a concrete floor-mitigate foot pain and end of day tiredness. My third pair of Fit Flops and will continue to buy more!"
