Best Christmas bedding sets of 2024 - for a festive bedroom
It's the most slumberful of the year
When Christmas rolls around, the first thing that I unpack is my cheery Christmas bedding. Tucking up in some tartan sheets or a whimsical winter scene is all part of the festive spirit — to help take some of the stress out of Christmas, I've found the cosiest options out there for you.
Lots of brands claim to make the best Christmas bedding, but your signature festive sheets will be different from your neighbour's, your friend's, and your mother-in-law's too — not that you'll ever get a peep at them. Some people go for rich holiday reds and deep greens whilst others prefer fleecy snow whites and sparkling gold accents. Whatever you opt for, they should be a change from your normal bed sheets and more like your Christmas pyjamas.
I've been through all the Christmas bedding that's on the market this year, to help you with your Christmas decorating ideas. I've got budget sets, cosy cotton sets, textured fluffy sets and more. There are even some cosy throws and complementary pillows at the bottom of the page, if you want some help with classic Christmas decorations too.
The best Christmas bedding for bringing cosiness home this year
These are the twelve best Christmas bedding sets on the market right now. Some of them are subtle, like Piglet In Bed's Berry Gingham Collection and others are a little more obviously festive. I've always prioritised quality, maintenance, and, of course, Christmas style.
RRP: £55| Composition: cotton | Sizes available: single - super king
This simple set is an elegant way to add some whimsical fun to your bedding, without going overboard. It's all crafted from super soft cotton, which is naturally breathable and soft against the skin, perfect for all the family.
RRP: £24 | Composition: polyester and cotton | Sizes available: single - king
This reversible set is perfect if you want to spruce up the festivities. One side features fun illustrations of evergreen trees with Santa and the other is a classic check pattern. It's all crafted from a low-maintenance polyester and cotton thread that doesn't even need to be ironed,
RRP: £15 | Composition: polyester | Sizes available: single - king
Catherine Lansfield's fun set has something for everyone. The colour cautious can opt for the white duvet with subtle red and white candy canes. Then, as things heat up for Christmas, flip it for a resplendent all-red display. It's fun, reversible, and woven from super soft microfibre too.
RRP: £16 | Composition: polycotton | Sizes available: single - super king
I've always been a sucker for a fairaisle pattern and I think Dunelm has nailed it this year. This set is adorable, and perfect for children, grandchildren, and festive parents. It's reversible, so you can switch up the pattern and the low-maintenance fabric doesn't need ironing.
RRP: £50| Composition: recycled polyester | Sizes available: single - super king
You don't get a good sense of the super soft fleece texture that this duvet comes in, but imagine what a fine layer of snow would feel like if it lay over your bed. This subtle, elegant, fun and festive set is the one that I have my eye on. I just hope it doesn't sell out.
RRP: £26 | Composition: cotton | Sizes available: single - king
This busy pattern is wonderfully festive, featuring a beautifully illustrated robin with classic foliage. The underside is a warm, sage green and all of the sheets are crafted from cotton, so they're breathable and gentle on the skin. It's a true treat.
RRP: £31.99 | Composition: cotton | Sizes available: single - king
With a reversible set like this, you can switch between a deep green base colour and a bright white backing. Both are scattered with festive mistletoe and holly. The question is, who's kissing under the mistletoe?
RRP: | Composition: | Sizes available: single - king
Now, this isn't exclusively Christmas bedding, but it's got the cosy aesthetic that we all long for. The striped linen, paired with elegantly embroidered pillowcase is countryside cottage cosiness to a tee. I've been in love with these sheets since I tested them (and that was only at the beginning of September).
RRP: from £169 | Composition: European flax | Sizes available: single - emperor
Forget pigs in blankets, I want Piglet In Bed in my house this Christmas. Their berry and forest green gingham sets are some of my favourites for adding a subtle, luxurious Christmas feel to your home. They might be expensive, but they're worth it.
RRP: £82 | Composition: cotton | Sizes available: single - super king
This is one of the first Christmas sets that I fell in love with this year. It has all the trappings of ultra-premium sheets (200 thread count cotton and delicate button fastenings) but with a whimsical, adorable aspect of festivity imbued across all the illustrations. What's not to love?
RRP: £25 | Composition: polycotton | Sizes available: single - king
Last year, furn won by a mile with their fun Christmas bedding. This bright, colourful collection covers everything that I love about the season: bright colours, cosiness, and childlike fun.
RRP: £16 | Composition: polycotton | Sizes available: single - super king
Spruces are the signatures of all things Christmassey. Decked out in green and white checks, with elegant illustrations of trees and ski huts on the outside, this duvet is a simple way to cosy up your bedroom.
Christmas throws and pillows
If you want to make your bedroom or lounge a little more Christmassy, adding some festive throws and pillows can make a big difference. Almost all the brands in this list have their own, extended Christmas bedding collections that include lots of accessories, but here are my favourites.
I don't say that I'm 'obsessed' with things in the way that everybody seems to these days, but I really mean it in this case. Ask my partner, my brother, and my niece. I have bought all of them one of these.
FAQs
What material is best for winter bedding?
Cotton, especially flannel, is perfect for sleeping in over the winter. You can get thick sheets to keep you cosy, but cotton is also naturally breathable and moisture-wicking, which looks after your skin while you sleep.
Is Christmas bedding worth getting?
If you want to add a touch of Christmas to your bedroom, Christmas bedding makes for a great investment. It sounds like a small change to make, but the difference that it'll add to your room is surprisingly vast.

When can I put my Christmas bedding out?
I already have my Christmas bedding out, but that's because I'm a bit Christmas crazy. Lots of people wait until the end of November or the beginning of December. Just know, if you want to change it now, you aren't alone.
Who makes the best Christmas bedding?
All of the brands that I've featured above make good Christmas bedding. I'd normally always opt for cotton sheets, because they're gentle against your skin. However, I think it's okay to opt for cotton or polycotton when you're investing in festive sheets, since they'll be cheaper and lower maintenance than your other sheets.
These Christmas bedding sets are the ones that I would (and will be) buy for friends, family, and as gifts. If you haven't got any Christmas bedding yet, you're in for a real treat.
