Monsoon cyber monday sale: rosaline long military coat

Finding the perfect winter coat is a tricky task. And of course we’re not talking any old winter coat - we’re talking about one you can’t wait to swoop off the coat rack, one that guarantees compliments every time you wear it and one that seems to magically coordinate with all your outfits. We’re talking about ‘the one’.

And after what feels like years of Cyber Monday scrolling, we might just have found it. The Monsoon Cyber Monday sale has come up trumps with their Rosaline Long Military Coat.

Before we get into the details, let us first draw your attention to the price tag. With 40% off the RRP, it’s now £99 instead of the usual £165. A brilliant bargain by anyone’s standards, you’ll have to move fast as Monsoon’s Cyber Monday sale ends tonight at midnight.

At first glance, it’s a simple navy overcoat, but on second take, there’s so much more to it.

The shape is far more flattering than your average straight-up-and-down, androgynous coat, thanks to the nipped-in waist and gently flared skirt. Long enough to sit nicely over dresses, it hits at around the mid-calf. If you’re petite, you’ll find it ends nearer to the ankle.

The double-breasted front and embossed gold buttons to the front and cuffs add even more interest, giving the coat a military feel. We like that Monsoon have chosen navy over classic black too - it’s far more forgiving on our lacklustre lockdown complexions.

A coat you can rely on winter after winter, it’s fully-lined, with the outer crafted from 67% wool - which is an excellent insulator. Even better, it has two practical side pockets, both roomy enough to stash your lippy or keep your hands warm on chilly days.

We’ll be layering ours over leggings and sweatshirts to make them feel more ‘put together’ for now, trading them for coated jeans and a chunky knit once lockdown ends.

As we said, this deal isn’t sticking around for long, so shop quick to avoid missing out.

Jess’ average day in the office is spent researching the latest fashion trends, chatting to industry tastemakers and scouring the internet to bring you this season’s must-buy pieces - as well as advice on how to wear them. Weekends are equally fashion-focused, and Jess has been known to visit no less than five Zara stores in a single day in search of the perfect occasion dress.

The only thing that comes close to a buzz of finally tracking down that much-coveted dress is the joy of discovering a new beauty wonder product or hero ingredient. A beauty obsessive, Jess has tried everything from cryotherapy to chemical peels (minus the Samantha in Sex and The City-worthy redness) and interviewed experts including Jo Malone and Trinny Woodall.
