Many factors can lead to hair thinning, including stress, heat styling, colouring and, the oh so inevitable, aging.
Adding to the problem is the difficulty of finding a hairbrush that detangles hair gently, without causing an onslaught of breakage. Cue the latest product from hairbrush phenomenon Tangle Teezer.
The Fine & Fragile Detangling Hairbrush is designed to gently glide through the hair with no pulling or tugging, while also massaging the scalp (a method of stimulating blood flow so hair growth is boosted in the long run).
The brush promises to be a solution for those with fine and fragile or colour treated hair, who are scared to brush breakage prone locks for fear of thinning it further – especially when hair is wet and most vulnerable to damage.
While many women spend money on conditioners and serums to combat the common complaint of thinning hair, a damage-wreaking hairbrush can often be the root of the problem.
The Fine & Fragile brush, available to buy at Boots for £10, was designed in collaboration with renowned trichologist Iain Sallis, and boasts unique, two-tiered soft flex teeth (which are 30 per cent softer than average) to save already fragile hair from additional breakage.
With the same hand-held pebble shape of the now-iconic original Tangle Teezer, the new brush’s long teeth are designed to detangle, while its shorter teeth are designed to smooth the hair’s cuticle for a sleek finish.
And the five-star, glowing reviews keep on rolling in. “I purchased the thin hair brush and it works wonders,” wrote one delighted customer. “I have pretty thin hair and I’ve noticed the brush doesn't rip out nearly as much as other brushes have in the past.”
“Finally I can comb my hair gently and untangling it,” another wrote. “It is easy to handle, and it has a beautiful colour. The hair is really soft. I'm very satisfied!”
Meanwhile another five-star review exclaimed, “Love this! Won’t brush my hair with any other type of brush.”
