M&S meets Wizard of Oz with these sparkly red heels - and they're sending shoppers wild

Dorothy, eat your heart out! These jewelled kitten heels are sending shoppers wild.

The high-street shop may be shutting shops and losing some of their popular ranges, but they certainly aren't losing in the style stakes.

Their latest wonder? Only a pair of sparkly red slippers! Earlier this month, M&S unveiled their 2018 spin on the Wizard of Oz wardrobe via Instagram, with the image racking up thousands of likes.

The Wide Fit Kitten Heel Jewel Bow Sandals, £39.50, caused mass hysteria on the shop’s social media page, attracting comments such as, '‘How beautiful are these?!’, and ‘OMG! I’ve got to have these!’.

‘They’ve done it again!!’, wrote one delighted follower.

The shoes have even got Karl Lagerfeld’s seal of approval - well, his cat at least! Undoubtedly a fan of kitten heels, the fashionable feline ‘liked’ the photo via her own popular Instagram account. And if it’s good enough for Choupette…

The slingback wide fit kitten heel comes with a pointed toe and sparkly bow topper, and are the ultimate party shoe offering both comfort and style, and were dubbed as ‘Carrie Bradshaw heels’ by one shopper. Several commenters left rave reviews on the Marks and Spencer website.

'Highly recommend these shoes. Perfect fit and lovely diamanté bow. Look very expensive,’ said one happy customer.

Another added, 'Am so pleased with these shoes - elegant, comfortable and with a real wow factor. The wide fit is great for me and heel height just right for all day and night at a wedding. They are similar to shoes four times the price in a high end shop, I'm delighted.'

Sadly, shoppers wanting to channel their inner Dorothy will have to wait - the red pair has sold out for now. Both the black and navy pair are still available in sizes 3 to 8.

In addition to these sparkly beauties, M&S recently sent customers crazy with not one but two sell-out dresses. Can the high-street giant do no wrong?
