Kitting out your Kindle with accessories is almost as joyful as actually reading on one. In fact, the two go hand-in-hand. The right Kindle accessories don’t just make your e-reader look chic, they can completely elevate your reading experience, whether you’re curled up in bed, soaking in the bath, or sunbathing in the garden.
Naturally, I started my search for the best Kindle accessories with the best Kindle cases. I figured, if I was going to be taking my Kindle everywhere (from the sofa to a sunny bench in the park) it deserved to look the part and stay protected. But once I saw a gadget that props it up perfectly for hands-free reading (leaving my hands free for a cup of tea or a snack), I knew I was going to have to dig deeper.
So I did what any curious reader would do: I tested as many best Kindle accessories as I could get my hands on. Think everything from page-turning remotes to cute stickers and bath-proof holders. And along the way, I found myself wandering into Kindle vs Kobo debates and discovering accessories that work wonders for both. The ones that didn’t quite hit the mark have been quietly returned. As for the gems, I’m keeping those (and buying spares for every fellow bookworm in my life).
The best Kindle accessories, tested and approved by a book worm
These accessories don't just come from my recommendation (although I have loved and used them all), but they are also the product of book influencers and Kindle themselves. That's right, the case trick that I've included below is one that Kindle styled at one of their very own launch events that I attended. I quizzed the team and they approved of my other accessories too.
Arguably the most iconic Kindle accessory, this clever clamp-on stand gives you hands-free reading from bed, the bath, or your favourite reading nook. Just attach it to a solid surface (I use my bedside table), pop your Kindle in, and angle it to your liking. Your hands will be free to cradle a cup of tea, a biscuit, or both.

If you’re going hands-free (or missing those physical page-turn buttons), this little gadget is genius. Prop your Kindle up in any position, then click your way through your book without lifting a finger. Well, maybe just one.

If you’ve ever felt like your Kindle is a little too wide to grip comfortably, this is your fix. This neat handle gives you a solid hold, whether you’re reading upright or on the go. I’ve started using mine to carry my Kindle from room to room like it’s a mini clutch. No regrets

Here’s a genius tip, courtesy of Kindle themselves: pair a clear case with some Posca pens and you’ve got a fully customisable cover. It’s perfect if you want to keep your Kindle’s original colour on show, or if you fancy yourself as the next cover artist in residence.
While some Kindle stands lean cute or quirky, this one’s all grown up. It’s sleek, sturdy, and angles just how you want it. The plush bottom is soft enough to cuddle, plus, it offers bonus storage options so you can keep your reading space as tidy as it is stylish.

Add a little flair to your Kindle case with these playful stickers. I was sceptical at first (stickers? really?), but after seeing so many cute, creative designs, I gave in. And I’m so glad I did. Instant personality, zero effort.

These might look like a novelty, but trust me, they’re a revelation. The glasses feature mirrors which are angled perfectly for reading while lying flat, they’re ideal if you struggle to prop yourself up in bed. I’ll be taking mine sunbathing, no question.

We take our Kindles everywhere, which means that they'll often need a good clean. Different sets will offer an array of brushes and sprays, but I like this one for keeping thigs simple. You've got an eco-friendly screen cleaner and two microfibre clothes. Simple, but effective.

FAQs
Can I use Kindle accessories on other e-readers?
It depends on the accessory that you're looking at. In the list above, I have noted when Kindle accessories are also compatible with Kobos and other e-readera.
What's the best Kindle accessory?
The most important Kindle accessory, or at least the best place to start, is with a Kindle case. I've recommended a couple of covers, but I have a whole collection of recommendations over on our dedicated page for Kindle cases.
How do I know which Kindle model I have?
It helps you to know which model you have to help you find the right size and compatibility for your case and clicker. To determine your Kindle model, check the back of the device for the model number, usually in small print near the bottom
I've bought plenty more Kindle accessories over the years, but these are the ones that I've kept using in my home. They're also the ones used by book-tok celebrities, authors, and Kindle experts. I should know, I've done the research.
