The best skinny jeans for women that will forever be on trend
Comfy and flattering, the best skinny jeans for women will never go out of style

Our best skinny jeans have seen us through the decades. The skinny has reigned supreme in the denim world since the early noughties, earning legions of fans, from celebrities to stylists.
But when it comes to the best jeans nowadays, other styles such as mom jeans and straight-leg jeans have gained momentum, and some fashion pros would have you believe this figure-hugging style should no longer be a go-to. We, however, strongly disagree and think the best skinny jeans still deserve a spot in our capsule wardrobe.
For starters, skinny jeans are incredibly flattering for all shapes and sizes and are definitely one of the most slimming jeans styles. Fashion technology has come a long way and many styles offer to lift, shape, and flatter our curves for a super smooth silhouette that doesn’t compromise on comfort.
How to wear skinny jeans
Skinny jeans are great for tucking into boots thanks to their skin-tight leg, but styling is key, to avoid skinnies looking dated. If you want to refresh your denim, pair them with more trend-led pieces such as puff sleeve blouses and oversized blazers. Don’t be afraid to play with the proportions and balance out snug skinnies with looser styles on top.
Skinny jeans are also easy to dress up. Dark washes look particularly smart and if you go for a cropped high-rise fit they can have some serious leg-lengthening powers, especially when teamed with some killer heels. Hopefully, we’ve convinced you skinny jeans are not dead but are very much alive and kicking in our wardrobe rotation.

How to pick the best skinny jeans for you
There's no doubt about it, jeans shopping can be daunting. With each brand differing in size, and each individual jean differing in shape, fit, and design, it can be tricky to know which pair to pick. If you're shopping IRL, it can be easier to try each pair on and decide for yourself which pair of skinny jeans suits you the most. But when it comes to online, it can be difficult to know how they will look on you, as everybody is different.
To make it easier, a tip is to look out for the product descriptions and see which size the model is wearing. This way you can attempt to see how it may look on you. It's also a good idea to look at her height description so you can see how long they may be, too.

How to buy the best skinny jeans, according to a fashion expert
Fashion expert Miranda Holder (opens in new tab) gave us some great takeaway tips, perfect to consider while splurging on denim and investing in the best skinny jeans.
1. Look out for a curved waistband that is higher at the back and lower at the front, which will lift your bum and pull in your tummy.
2. If the side seam on the outer thigh is slightly positioned to the front, it will improve the overall leg profile, the yoke at the back should have a nice deep V shape, and you want large-ish pockets that are positioned fairly high up for the perkiest rear.
3. Buy less but buy better! Sourcing premium denim with a good elastane ratio and high-quality hardware will be a far better investment in the long run.
4. When you get your jeans home, wash at a cold temperature and dry cold to get the maximum life out of your denim.
