Here's how you can bag a free full-sized product from Space NK on Black Friday

As annual events go, Black Friday has had a pretty dizzying ascent.

Less than a decade ago this shopping institution was limited to post-thanksgiving bargain hunters in the US. Then, in 2014 with essentially zero build-up it landed on our shores with a considerable bang (we’ve all seen those supermarket television bunfight photos, if you haven’t Google it– scary stuff).

Now the date is as indelibly marked in our shopping calendar as the Boxing Day sales, and has evolved into a classier affair with luxe brands offering enticing discounts just as our collective conscious turns to Christmas shopping.

One such brand, and my personal pick of the beauty bunch is Space NK, which today launches Black Friday Weekend. The deal is thus: Every shopper that spends £50+ in store from Friday 23rd to Monday 26th can pick a full-sized product to take away for free.

That’s right, totally gratis beauty products – heaven! And as it’s Space NK, the brands involved are pretty heavenly too, think REN, Eve Lom and new W&H favourite Herbivore Botanicals.

If I’ve piqued your interest, lets get down to the nitty-gritty – you want to know exactly which products are on offer – that’s where the tier system comes in. Those who spend £50 qualify for a tier 1 gift, £100 tier 2 and if you splash out £150 (easily done in Space NK) you qualify for tier 3 brands. Each store is offering its own bespoke selection, but I’ve had a sneak peek at the online offer and there are some corkers.

Tier 1 online shoppers have REN’s gorgeous Atlantic Kelp & Magnesium Hand Lotion (£18) or First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo (£23) by hip LA hair brand IGK to choose from, tier 2 earns Rodial Vitamin C Cleanser (£39) or Herbivore Hibiscus Hydrating Face Mist (£28) and big spenders on tier 3 get my absolute favourite Eve Lom Gel Balm Cleanser (£45) or Omorovicza Instant Perfecting serum, worth a whopping £85.

As the selection will vary (and I hear whispers of Sunday Riley skincare in certain stores) I’d say for skin and haircare aficionados it’s well worth making a beauty pilgrimage and embracing this Black Friday business once and for all.

I for one hope it’s here to stay!
