Allow us to introduce you to the wolf cut, what's likely to be your new summer 'do. The style has garnered viral attention on TikTok for its chic, layered waves. Essentially, it is a laidback look, but with an upgrade—perfect for a post-quarantine summer.
Gen Z has taken quite a liking to the wolf cut, as evidenced by thousands of videos that have raked in close to 300 million views on TikTok alone. (Wowza!) We have to admit, the young'uns are totally trendy, but something about this cut just screams déjà vu to the 40+ crowd.
"The wolf cut is a progression of the '70's shag," Holly Dear, hair artist and CEO of House of Dear (opens in new tab), tells woman&home. "[It] focuses on eliminating weight and adds movement to the ends while detailing the shape to emphasize features around the face and can be altered for all hair types and face shapes."
Get ready to channel your inner Farrah Fawcett and punk-rock goddess: this trend will certainly inspire you to take a step back in time and chop your locks. Are you ready to book that appointment with your stylist?
