Queen Camilla’s former husband Andrew Parker Bowles given important royal role
Queen Camilla’s former husband is said to have represented her officially as he paid his respects at a poignant service.

Queen Camilla’s former husband Andrew Parker Bowles was reportedly given the important royal role of representing her at a family service this month.
- The Queen Consort’s former husband Brigadier Andrew Parker Bowles is said to have officially represented her at a funeral on October 18.
- It’s claimed that he was given a pew at the service which took place on a day where King Charles and Queen Camilla undertook a visit.
- This royal news comes as Kate Middleton revealed the bargain breakfast Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis enjoy every morning.
In recent weeks the new King and Queen Consort have faced both a hugely emotional and very busy time as they continue to mourn the loss of Queen Elizabeth whilst undertaking various important royal duties. With such a busy schedule the couple have been supported by other senior royals including the Prince and Princess of Wales and Princess Anne who have carried out many engagements themselves. Now it’s been suggested that Queen Camilla’s former husband has been given an important royal role on October 18th.
Whilst King Charles and the Queen Consort were visiting Project Zero in London, where Queen Camilla’s shirt dress proved that her signature style works perfectly for autumn, Andrew Parker Bowles reportedly represented her at a funeral service.
According to Richard Eden's Eden Confidential column for the Daily Mail, Queen Camilla’s former husband Andrew Parker Bowles formally represented Queen Camilla at the funeral of John Bowes-Lyon held at the The Brompton Oratory.
The late John Bowes-Lyon was a second cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth on her mother's side and the publication reports that this royal duty was recorded in the Court Circular which is an official record of royal engagements that are carried out.
“The Queen Consort was represented by Brigadier Andrew Parker Bowles,” it’s understood to have declared and he’s said to have been given a prominent pew at the funeral in light of this.
It’s also been suggested by the Daily Mail that the stepping in of Queen Camilla’s former husband to represent her at this sad occasion could potentially not be the only time he represents her going forwards given the immense responsibilities of her new role.

They added that friends supposedly claimed that it could be the “first engagement of many”, though this hasn’t been confirmed by the Royal Family.
“Andrew is happy to do anything he is asked,” one friend alleged. ”He still enjoys a warm relationship with Camilla.”
Andrew and the Queen Consort, who was previously known as Camilla Parker Bowles, were married for 21 years and have two children together, Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopes. Tom’s children reportedly gave King Charles an unusual nickname growing up and Tom and Laura attended the wedding of the now-King and Queen Consort in 2005.
The way Queen Camilla’s former husband has stepped in to represent her at John Bowes-Lyon’s funeral could be seen to indicate a high level of trust and respect for Andrew Parker Bowles as she negotiates the enormous responsibilities of her new role and supports King Charles.
