In a new speech, Prince Harry has spoken about his and Meghan Markle's exciting future together, as they plan to work as a couple in the Commonwealth countries.
The royal has recently received a huge new honour from the Queen – having been made The Queen’s Commonwealth Youth Ambassador.
As part of his new role, Harry attended the opening of the Commonwealth Youth Forum in London on Monday 16th April, where he delivered a passionate speech about the work he plans to do.
But of course, the future groom couldn’t fail to mention his bride-to-be, Meghan, paying a sweet tribute to their future plans together.
Harry spoke about how he would be supporting the Queen, Prince Charles and William in his Commonwealth work. He then shared how Meghan will be too – saying that she is “hugely excited” about the opportunity.
He said, “I am also incredibly grateful that the woman I am about to marry, Meghan, will be joining me in this work, of which she too is hugely excited to take part in.”
It’s clear then that Meghan and Harry will be making the Commonwealth a centre of their focus as they embark on royal life together – and Harry’s sweet words only prove how much they’re looking forward to the task.
In his speech, Prince Harry also revealed some of his plans for the upcoming year – many of which will likely include his wife-to-be.
He shared that he plans to get together young leaders from around the 53 Commonwealth countries, in order to work out how best to improve the platforms for them.
The royal said, “I am working now to plan my first year in this role. And my hope is to convene young leaders from across The Commonwealth to discuss how best we can make Commonwealth platforms work for you, and to ensure maximum impact.”
Of course, it’s not the first time the couple have discussed their excitement about their future international plans.
In their engagement interview, Harry said, “With lots of young people running around the Commonwealth, that’s where we’re going to be spending most of our time.”
And Meghan agreed, saying, “I’m excited also just about going round to the Commonwealth. I think it’s just the beginning.”
We predict plenty of foreign visits and royal tours for this happy couple.
