Pop superstar and beauty and fashion entrepreneur Rihanna has been titled the richest female musician in the world.
Forbes estimates that she is worth around $1.8 billion making her officially the wealthiest female musician in the world. Her new status has also landed her second to Oprah as the richest female entertainer. Rihanna didn’t establish her self-made billionaire status just on her music alone though. The 33-year-old has had major success with her beauty and fashion businesses Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty.
What is Rihanna’s net worth?
Currently, the singer has a 50% stake in her beauty company, which is valued at $1.4 billion. Fenty Beauty has taken off as a brand since its initial debut in 2017 for providing beauty lovers with a wide-range of the best foundations and the best eyeliners. This helped skyrocket Rihanna’s net worth combined with her lingerie brand, which is valued at around $270 million. The value of her music and acting career has also solidified her as a self-made billionaire (totaling everything out to about $1.8 billion).
In addition to Rihanna becoming a billionaire, Forbes also estimates that she made $46 million in 2020, according to its highest-paid celebrity list (opens in new tab) (where she ties for number 60 with David Copperfield).
Born in Barbados, the businesswoman was first recognized for her music. In 2005, she released her first studio album, and since then, has gone on to win nine Grammy awards for the seven albums she has released over the years.

Rihanna's following on Instagram has also helped drive her influence as a businesswoman with 103 million followers. This has helped her achieve widespread brand awareness as she uses her platform to post upcoming launches and new initiatives.
“I had one dream and that was for my music to be heard all over the world,” Rihanna said to Sarah Paulson for Interview Magazine (opens in new tab) in June 2019. “I didn’t even think about the fame part, and then that came, and I was like, ‘Oh, shoot. Do I really want to do this?’ But the thing that keeps me alive and passionate is being creative."
With a passion for fashion and makeup though, those creative outlets eventually led to new business ventures.
“With every business outlet, I’m making something from a vision to a reality, and that’s the thing I really enjoy,” she continued. “Music has led me to these other outlets, and to things that I genuinely love. My mom pretty much worked in the beauty and perfume industry for a long time—she did makeup for people and was a makeup artist—so I always loved that.”
