The royal engagement the Cambridge children have been banned from attending
Prince William and Kate Middleton will leave their three children at home for the high-profile event
Prince William and Kate Middleton have banned their three children from attending an upcoming event—and there's a good reason for it.
- Prince William and Kate Middleton will grace the red carpet in London this week, but their three young children will not be joining them for the event.
- The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expected to leave Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis at home while they attend the Royal Variety Performance on Thursday evening.
- In other royal news, the Queen steps out with beloved Corgi for first face-to-face appearance in over a month.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expected to make an appearance at the Royal Variety Performance on Thursday, but unfortunately, their adorable three children won't be in tow.
Prince George (8), Princess Charlotte (6), and Prince Louis (3) are likely to remain at Kensington Palace tomorrow evening with their nanny while their parents enjoy a date night at the glitzy fundraiser show in Central London.
While it's understood that the royal tots are technically invited to the event, it's predicted that they won't end up going due to its unsuitable timing. During her appearance at the Royal Variety Performance 2019, Kate was overheard telling singer Petula Clark that George and Charlotte had asked her if they could tag along—but were denied permission because it was a school night.
The Duchess added that she reassured them that they could come "another time!" but, with this year's event falling on a Thursday, it looks like they might have to wait another twelve months for the opportunity.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte attend the prestigious St. Thomas' Battersea in southwest London, where they are required to adhere to rigid behavioral rules and embrace a challenging curriculum. The elite preparatory school, which charges parents an eye-watering $24,000 a year, sets extremely high standards for its students and expects excellent academic results. The dress code is another important aspect of St. Thomas's high-achieving culture, with George and Charlotte's strict uniform rules requiring the kids to look polished and presentable at all times.
Meanwhile, the youngest of Kate and Will's children enjoys a little more freedom at his nearby preschool. Prince Louis's nursery, Willcocks, is known to cultivate creativity and critical thinking skills in toddler-aged children, treating its pupils to museum trips and language lessons on a regular basis. The three-year-old was enrolled in the £14,500 a year institution in April and is expected to remain there for another two years.
