Prince Harry and Meghan probably already know if they're having a baby boy or girl - here's why

The couple's interview with Oprah Winfrey airs this weekend – but will they reveal if their second child is a boy or a girl?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expecting their second child this year – and it's likely they already know if they're having a girl or a boy.

Announcing the news on Valentine's Day with a sweet photograph, a spokesperson for the couple said, "We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child."

The news came just a few months after Meghan revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage last summer, sharing her experience in an essay for The New York Times

Although Meghan's exact due date has not been confirmed, the baby is thought to be due late spring or early summer, most likely in June.

Are Harry and Meghan having a boy or a girl?

It's thought that the couple probably already knows if they are having a boy or a girl, as this was the case when Meghan was pregnant with Archie.

"Harry and Meghan already had a name ready to go when Archie was born, because the couple had known all along that they were having a boy." their biography Finding Freedom explains. "According to a source, they settled on their son's name some time during the final week of her pregnancy."

While fans are speculating that the couple could share the news during their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, we think that's pretty unlikely as they didn't do so with their first pregnancy. But we'll keep our fingers crossed all the same!

Oprah's interview with Meghan and Harry will air Sunday March 7 on CBS at 8pm EST.
