The Duchess of Cambridge had a busy weekend, dashing from Wimbledon to Wembley Stadium yesterday afternoon to watch the England vs Italy match at Euro 2020. Joined by Prince William and their eldest son Prince George, the patriotic mother-of-three cheered on the Three Lions from a VIP box during the historic game between the rival nations on Sunday evening. 

And while she's never been one to don a football jersey, Kate didn't disappoint when it came to her sporty attire. The royal fashionista expressed her national pride in a St. George's flag-inspired outfit, complete with a white blazer, black trousers, and some blindingly bright red jewelry. The scarlet teardrop earrings (fittingly suited for the match's emotional result) were the perfect way to jazz up the monochromatic ensemble, sending a statement of solidarity with every tilt of her signature chestnut tresses. 

Unfortunately, the Duchess's mascot colors didn't succeed in helping the nation win the 61-year-old football tournament. 

The evening ended in despair for England, with Italy winning the coveted title on penalties after a nail-bitingly close match. Prince William joined devastated royal fans in sharing 'heartbreak' over the defeat, before encouraging the Three Lions to "hold your heads high and be so proud of yourselves." His disappointment was shared by seven-year-old Prince George, whose reaction to England losing was enough to make even the hardest of hearts melt.
