Kate Middleton has teamed up with one of Princess Eugenie's close personal celebrity friends in aid of a good cause for her Christmas event at Westminster Abbey.

The Duchess of Cambridge announced a controversial carol concert at the end of November that's due to take place on the evening of Wednesday, November 8. Filming takes place in early December and the concert won't be available for the public to view until it is broadcast on ITV on Christmas Eve.

Although we'll have to wait to see the concert for ourselves, some of the celebrity guests in attendance have been revealed—including one of Princess Eugenie's close personal friends, Ellie Goulding.

Katie Rawcliffe, ITV Head of Entertainment Commissioning announced, “In aid of bringing everyone together this Christmas, we’re honored to be airing an incredibly special carol event with a difference."

"Hosted by The Duchess of Cambridge, you can expect show-stopping performances from a whole host of music artists such as Leona Lewis, Tom Walker and Ellie Goulding. ITV is guaranteed to deliver the festive joy we all need straight from Westminster Abbey into our living rooms this Christmas.”

Ellie Goulding is a close friend of Princess Eugenie and in previous years the pop star has spoken about her close friendship with the royal.

Ellie told The Telegraph that she has leaned on the Princess during her pregnancy, "She's been a great friend throughout this," said Ellie, "We've talked a lot about pregnancy and she's been inspirational because she just takes everything in her stride."

The singer also has other royal ties as performed at Prince William and Kate's wedding in 2011. At the time, the couple claimed that they had listened to her music many times during their courtship and therefore she was the perfect choice of artist to perform at the Royal Wedding Reception in Buckingham Palace.

It's thought that Kate Middleton and Prince William will reunite the Firm at this upcoming carol concert, but it has not been confirmed which royals will be in attendance.

The concert will be part of the Royal Carols: Together At Christmas broadcast which will air Christmas Eve, 7.30pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
