Oprah is trying to change the dialogue surrounding trauma. In hopes of helping people feel more accepting of what they have been through, she and Dr. Bruce Perry will release a new book, What Happened to You?: Conversations on Trauma, Resilience, and Healing, on April 27.
"Most of us have experienced various levels of trauma that have informed how we operate and interact in the world," Oprah writes on Instagram. She continued, "We hope that through these pages, we help people hold more empathy for themselves and others as we learn to shift from asking “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?”
In true Oprah fashion, she's gathering friends and hosting a (virtual) book tour to get the conversation rolling. You definitely don't want to miss the live events or get a copy of what will surely be a bestseller.
