Victoria Beckham swears by this £12 youth-boosting eye mask, and so does our Beauty Editor

We all know Victoria Beckham has a taste for the, er, posh things in life.

The spice girl turned fashion designer turned beauty guru is partial to a breathless Instagram post about her latest skincare find, which are almost invariably from the steel-yourself-before-you-check-the-price echelon of luxury.

Fair enough, we’re talking about celeb royalty here.

I say almost invariably, because despite having access to the world’s spendiest brands, VB also likes to shine her spotlight on products that us mere mortals could afford too, which brings us to 111skin Celestial Black Diamond Eye Mask.

These £12 under-eye masks appeared on Victoria Beckham’s instagram feed with the caption “Prepping skin on set. #victoriabeckhambeauty #cleanbeauty #notperfect” causing a buying frenzy and scramble amongst Beauty Editors to get our hands on a pack to see if they lived up to the hype… spoiler alert: It’s a big fat yes from me.

These slippery black gels are absolutely choc full of active ingredients, exactly the ones that I would want to use on the eye area. They contain retinol, my #1 long game skincare ingredient which speeds up cell turnover to work on lines, tone and texture, they’ve got hyaluronic acid, an instant skin plumper, they also contain argireline, a peptide complex that works on expression lines. As you’ve probably guessed from the name there are also black diamond particles in there, which if nothing else is just extremely fabulous.

I often find sheet masks and patches have an irritating inability to stay where they are supposed to be and leave tacky residue rendering them a poor-pre party choice, not these though. After 20 minutes my skin had drank in all the lovely serum ingredients and was left feeling soft, smooth and nicely plumped. I put makeup straight on top and it set there happily without pilling or sliding around.

The masks are recommended for “frequent flyers, night-owls, and those prone to fine lines and darkness around the eye area” No wonder jet set Victoria is a fan. In fact a little dig around the highlights on her VB Beauty Instagram stories revealed another 111SKIN treatment, the Celestial Black Diamond Lifting and Firming Treatment Mask, £20. This innovative mask has an upper section packed with peptides, the lower half contains targeted collagen stimulators then a third section to be worn on the neck and chest area contains progelone, a peptide that firms.

Needless to say, if it's good enough for Victoria Beckham, it's more than good enough for me. This is one-stop shop skincare that’s going straight to the top of my Christmas party prep list.
