Prince Charles delivered an emotional speech about "Your Majesty, mummy", saying, "You laugh and cry with us and, most importantly, have been there for us, for these 70 years," moving royal fans.

Both Prince William and Prince Charles took to the stage at the BBC Party at the Palace Platinum Jubilee celebrations, with Prince Charles offering a heartfelt tribute to his mother. While Prince William's Platinum Jubilee speech started with a joke, Prince Charles' speech was more emotional.

The Duke of Cornwall paid tribute to the Queen and her legacy, with a touching tribute to her late husband and his father, Prince Philip.

"Your family now spans four generations. You are our Head of State. And you are also our mother," he said.

"Your 'strength and stay' is much missed this evening, but I am sure he is here in spirit… My Papa would have enjoyed the show and joined us wholeheartedly in celebrating all you continue to do for your country and your people.

"Looking back, we think of the countless state occasions that are milestones along this nation’s road. And you will think of red boxes, filled with government papers, at the end of the day."

Fans reacted warmly to the speech, taking to Twitter to address Prince Charles.

"Just wow! Party at the Palace was fantastic! Amazing performances, inspiring words, laughs & tears (from me at least.) Prince Charles's callbacks to his Diamond Jublilee speech 10 yrs ago were perfect. Then the Queen having Tea with Paddington Bear - priceless," wrote one royal fan.

While another said, quoting Prince Charles, "'You pledge to serve your whole life, you continue to deliver' - a heartwarming speech by Prince Charles! 70 years, Hip Hip Hooray! Thank you, your Majesty."

While a third said, "Wow His Royal Highness Prince Charles speech such a very moving tribute to HM our Queen and at the end the crowds cheered and sang our national anthem."

"And there was still time for fun amongst the work. We might have been celebrating that Derby winner this evening… next year, perhaps?

"But I know what really gets my mother up in the morning is all of you, ladies and gentlemen, all of you watching at home, represented here tonight in this great audience."

The Queen herself didn't attend the event, but the Queen's grandchildren, the Queen's great-grandchildren all came together to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee 2022.
