Queen health fears spark major break in royal protocol as Trooping the Colour will 'be adapted'
Ongoing fears for the monarch's health have meant that her birthday celebrations will be altered
Trooping the colour is a royal tradition of over 250 years which the Queen attends annually, but this year it will have to be altered.
- According to a royal source, this year's Trooping the Colour will be 'adapted' so that Her Majesty can enjoy her official birthday celebrations.
- The Queen has had ongoing mobility issues in recent months.

The Queen will likely have 'adapted' protocols so the monarch can 'fully participate' in marking her official birthday in June, as a part of the Platinum Jubilee 2022 celebrations.
The parade, which moves from Pall Mall down to Whitehall in London, typically features appearances by senior members of the Royal Family either in carriages or on horseback.
In the past, The Queen has made the ceremonial journey on horseback, before switching to the carriage.
However, royal biographer Ian Lloyd has told Express.co.uk how protocol of the annual event will be tweaked to cater for monarch's advancing age and mobility issues.

He explained that this year, the monarch is likely to remain seated. He said, “If she attends that particular event, she will stay in the carriage and not get in and out.
He also revealed that there could even be a 'shortened version' of the parade. “There will be tremendous thought going into it to make sure the Queen can fully participate," he said.

The Trooping the Colour parade will take place on Thursday, June 2, 2022, as one of the first events of the extended bank holiday weekend to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
In a Twitter post from June 2021, the Royal Family revealed that there will be a long bank holiday this summer to celebrate the Queen's 70-year long reign on the throne.
The post read, "Her Majesty the Queen will celebrate her Platinum Jubilee from Thursday 2nd—Sunday 5th June 2022."
Her Majesty, who has already celebrated her Silver, Golden, and Diamond Jubilees, is set to become the first-ever British monarch to reach the impressive milestone.
