It was a modest ceremony in Windsor last week, with the bride wearing a dress passed down from her grandmother, The Queen, and just 20 guests in attendance. And it would seem Princess Beatrice and her new husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are keeping things just as lowkey when it comes to their honeymoon.
According to the Daily Mail, the couple have driven to the South of France for a mini break following their intimate nuptials. An eagle-eyed tourist, who spotted the newlyweds, told the publication they were driving a "small car absolutely packed to the roof with stuff".
"It was such a surprise to see them," the tourist said. "Edo was behind the wheel and they looked just like any other couple enjoying the beautiful drive."
The couple's small wedding ceremony on the 17th July was attended by just close friends and family. Beatrice was walked down the aisle by her father, Prince Andrew, who was not featured in any of the publicly released photographs amid the ongoing controversy over his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
It was reported that Princess Beatricehad been struggling with the controversy surrounding her father in recent months. The Queen had previously offered Beatrice Buckingham Palace as a wedding reception venue in what was thought to have been a gesture of support towards her York grandchildren. Due to take place on 29th May, the wedding was then postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
But a private ceremony with their nearest and dearest seemed to suit the understated couple just fine. According to The Mail, Beatrice and Edoardo weren't even going to bother with a honeymoon at all.

"The wedding was arranged in a couple of weeks, and with lockdown their choice of honeymoon destinations was severely curtailed," a source told the publication.
"They weren’t going to bother but at the last minute they decided to pack up the car and head out. They’re a very down-to-earth couple."
