Gillian Anderson's surprise hair transformation wows fans
Gillian Anderson has ditched her cropped hair for a luscious, longer do
Gillian Anderson has sent her devoted fanbase into a tizzy with her gorgeous hair transformation this week, proving there's nothing the beloved TV star can't pull off.
The Emmy-award-winning actor debuted a brand new 'do on the Late Late Show with James Corden on Thursday, much to the delight of her loyal Instagram followers.
Having rocked a variation of short hairstyles for most of her recent roles—including sex therapist Jean Milburn on Sex Education—fans were more than excited to see Gillian switch it up with some longer tresses on the British funnyman's CBS chatshow.
"Your hair is absolutely gorgeous! You look amazing! 😍😍" one person gushed.
"HAIR DOWN HAIR DOWN HAIR DOWN," another follower wrote.

The dramatic makeover comes just a few weeks after Gillian went bald for her Eleanor Roosevelt role in The First Lady, an upcoming Showtime anthology co-starring Viola Davis, and Michelle Pfeiffer.
The transatlantic actor teamed her longer hair, which is normally tied in a bun or clipped away from her face, with a coffee and white dress and a waist-cinching black belt. In classic Gillian style, she kept her makeup and accessories on the lighter side and let her outfit—and, of course, her lovable personality—do the talking.

Speaking alongside fellow guest Cedric the Entertainer, the British-American star shared a hilarious anecdote about her experience of giving her daughter Piper the notoriously awkward 'birds and the bees' talk. Unlike her on-screen persona as Otis's super-liberal mom, it seems Gillian isn't too comfortable with the idea of her own children having sex.
"We were on a long drive once and I tried to scare her into not having sex ever," she admitted. She recalls delivering a "heavy-handed" lecture on the subject, warning her about "sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy and all that kind of stuff."
Gillian also admitted she has yet to give her sons, Felix 13, and Oscar, 15, 'the talk'—much to the shock of dad-of-three Cedric.
"Oh, you're late!" he warned.
This isn't the first time Gillian has spoken publicly about educating her children on the so-called 'Facts of Life.' On a previous appearance on James Corden's show, she revealed that she found one of her sons "lying on my bed naked" and "standing to attention." Just as she was about to explain to him about the process of puberty, he said, "Look, I've got a six-pack!"
"Saved by the bell!" she joked.
