Craig Revel Horwood slams Strictly viewers as Adam Peaty leaves the competition

Adam Peaty's Strictly Come Dancing journey has come to an end and the athlete has been defended by Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood who has slated Strictly viewers.

Craig Revel Horwood is one of the longest-standing, and harshest of the Strictly Come Dancing judges. Despite his razor-tongue, the judge was very complimentary of Strictly contestants Adam Peaty and Tilly Ramsay as he stated during the show that he wouldn't have placed either of the two in the dance-off.

“Firstly, I wouldn’t have put these couples in the bottom. That’s just me personally, but seeing they are there and I’ve got to choose, I’m finding it really difficult tonight and this isn’t like me,” said Craig.

“But for the reason of a better dancer and a better dance-off scenario, I’m going to choose to save Nikita [Kuzman] and Tilly.”

Fans think that Craig's comment may have been a subtle dig at Dan Walker who has been saved by the public on many occasions despite his scores from judges not being particularly high.

After exiting the show, Adam Peaty took to Instagram to share his thanks to his partner Katya and to tell Tilly Ramsay that he had no hard feelings towards her.

"Thank you Katya for being there every single day, you are incredible. I don’t have enough positive words for you and what an amazing person and dancer you are. Thank you to everyone behind the scenes, you are brilliant. I’m so grateful for everyone who has made this experience so amazing," he said. 

"Tilly Ramsay you were incredible and I’m so glad you get to show how much of an amazing dancer you are again next week!" added the swimmer.

In a different tone in the post, Adam also took time to reflect on the rumors he and his partner Katya had succumbed to the Strictly Curse had struck up a romantic relationship.

"For the people who tried to bring us down throughout the show, please challenge yourself to be better. The world needs much more positivity and truth," said Adam.

The rumors began when Katya spoke about her 'connection' with her dance partner and then the pair shared a near kiss after they finished performing on the dancefloor. Adam has a long-term girlfriend Eiri Munro who is also the mother of Adam's son. 

Strictly Come Dancing will continue on Saturdays at 7 pm on BBC One.
