It looks like the Queen has forever changed breakfast at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s household, after sending Archie a slightly unusual gift.

The Queen's Christmas present to Prince Harry's son has been revealed - and it's definitely not what we had imagined.

In a special appearance on the Late Late Show with James Corden on Thursday, the Duke of Sussex said that his grandmother gave one-year-old Archie a waffle maker for the festive holiday - and inadvertently upgraded the family’s morning routine for good.

“She sent us a waffle maker for Archie,” he said during the one-on-one conversation with longtime friend James.

It seems the culinary gadget has been a major game changer to the royal baby’s first meal of the day, with the craving for the sweet dish kicking in the moment he opens his eyes.

“Archie wakes up in the morning and literally just goes, waffle,” Harry said.

“Meg makes up a beautiful organic mix, in the waffle maker. He loves it.”

While the recipe of Meghan’s healthy batter remains a mystery, Harry had no problem sharing his topping preferences with viewers. The royal doesn’t seem too fussy about his foods touching, adding a concoction of sweet garnishes to his plate.

“And now I have waffles for breakfast, bit of yogurt, bit of jam on top,” he said. “I don’t know if that’s the right thing to do... bit of berries maybe, a little bit of honey, maybe some syrup.”

Harry’s scrumptious descriptions were quickly cut off by James though, who seemed baffled by the entire story.

“Sorry,” he interrupted. “You’re glossing over the fact that I cannot for the life of me imagine the Queen ordering a waffle maker to be sent to Santa Barbara...I can’t get my head around…”

While the Queen’s waffle maker present might sound a bit strange, Harry’s fondness for sugary treats shouldn’t come as a surprise. The duke has reportedly always had a sweet tooth, favoring fruity desserts over savory snacks since he was a child. Princess Diana’s former chef, Darren McGrady, has previously spoken about her son's go-to puddings growing up.

"They liked comfort food dishes. They loved banana flan, anything with banana really, banana ice cream," he said.

With the success of the waffle maker, we have to wonder what Christmas present the Queen will send her stateside family this year. Ice cream maker, perhaps?
