Sarah Ferguson has shared an important health update on the 'extraordinary' Queen

It was back to business as usual this week for Her Majesty the Queen.

• Calling Her Majesty "an extraordinary woman", Sarah also spoke of how "lucky" she feels to have a relationship with the 95-year-old monarch.

Since news of the Queen's sprained back was revealed, many have been worried. One of her greatest champions, the Duchess of York, confirmed that the Queen is "doing well." This comes after ongoing health woes that caused her to miss her appearance at last week's Remembrance Sunday service. 

One of the most important annual events in the monarch's calendar, Her Majesty had previously missed the poignant day just six times in her 69-year reign. Though she had previously been absent owing to either abroad tours or pregnancy, Sunday marked the first time she was not in attendance due to ill health. 

Sarah had nothing but praise for her former mother-in-law, telling French magazine Paris Match that the Queen is an "extraordinary woman" and she has to "pinch" herself when in her presence.

Sarah gushed, "She is doing well. She is my icon. When I see her, I pinch myself to remind myself how lucky I am. She is an extraordinary woman."

Never one to avoid difficult topics, romantic fiction author Sarah also opened up about her divorce from Prince Andrew, calling it the "hardest thing" she's ever been through.

"Andrew and I have managed to preserve our friendship and the duty that was ours," Sarah revealed. "As I often say, we prioritise the three Cs: communication, compromise and compassion."

Though Sarah and Andrew have been divorced for 25 years, the two still live together at the Royal Lodge in Windsor, and are thought to maintain a close relationship.

Despite growing concern over her health, this week the Queen stepped out with her beloved Corgi in tow, for her first face-to-face appearance in over a month.

Hosting an in-person audience at Windsor Castle on Wednesday afternoon, the Queen welcomed General Sir Nick Carter, the British Army's Chief of the Defence Staff, into her Berkshire residence; much to the delight of concerned royal fans.
