The Queen reluctantly pulled out of the COP26 climate change summit after doctors' orders insist that the Queen takes time to rest after her hospital stay.

It has just been announced that the Queen will not be able to attend the COP26 climate change summit because of her health.

A Palace spokesman said, "Following advice to rest, The Queen has been undertaking light duties at Windsor Castle. Her Majesty has regretfully decided that she will no longer travel to Glasgow to attend the evening reception of Cop26 on Monday."

"Her Majesty is disappointed not to attend the reception but will deliver an address to the assembled delegates via a recorded video message."

This comes just less than a week after Buckingham Palace announced that the Queen had a short stay at King Edward VII's Hospital in London on October 21.  At the time, royal representatives explained that Her Majesty was undergoing some 'preliminary investigations,' and was in 'high spirits.'

However, as the Queen has now elected to miss the COP26 summit, there are mounting concerns about the Queen's health. In the past week, the Queen missed church, and has been unable to walk her own dogs, which are other factors contributing to fans' concerns about the Monarch's health.

Although the Queen will continue to rest and will avoid the two-week-long summit event that is due to take place in Glasgow, the Queen has been able to resume other royal duties from her home.

On Tuesday, October 26, 2021, the royal family social media shared a post that showed the Queen was working from home and attending royal engagements via her computer.

Her Majesty received two Ambassadors in audience via video link from Windsor Castle and looked happy and healthy while she spoke to the ambassadors.

Not attending the COP26 will mean that the Queen has more time to recover and will likely spend some time with her family, including one of her dearest granddaughters, Lady Louise, who visited the Queen while she was taking time to rest.
