Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla made some very sweet friends at 230-year-old Cornish food festival
The show has been running since the 18th century...
Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla spent Friday at the Royal Cornwall Show and made some very sweet friends.
- The Royal Cornwall Show is an agricultural show in North Cornwall and has been running since 1793.
- The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall looked in good spirits as they attended the show and spoke to guests.
- In other royals news, Kate Middleton stepped aside to allow Queen's three heirs to have the limelight at Jubilee celebrations.
Prince Charles and Camilla spent the day in the sunshine on Friday meeting locals and competitors at this year's Royal Cornwall show - an agricultural festival in Wadebridge, which also has food and drinks stands.
Prince Charles, who royal fans praised for a deeply personal speech about 'your Majesty, mummy' at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee concert, seemed to be having a great day - as he made friends with animals and children, as well as enjoying a tipple or two with wife Duchess Camilla.
Prince Charles is a patron of the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association, the charity that puts on the Royal Cornwall Show, and seemed to enjoy meeting a golden Spaniel - the cute dog even licked the royal's face as he was stroking him, much to the delight of the crowds.
The Duke of Cornwall, who has been visiting the show since 1970, also met a baby who adoringly stuck his tongue out at the prince. While Duchess Camilla also had her share of interesting meet and greets, meeting some cows competing in the annual festival and the Cornwall air ambulance staff.
Taking to Instagram the couple thanked everyone who stopped to say hello to them, sharing some photos from the day. The comment also added, "The Prince and The Duchess were delighted to join the annual celebration of the very best in Cornish agriculture, food, and heritage today."
"🐐 🐏 🐄 Run since 1793, the three-day @TheRoyalCornwall Show will attract around 120,000 visitors this year, after 3 years away due to the pandemic. The Duke of Cornwall made his first visit back in 1970 and has made regular visits over the past 50 years."

At the show, which had been cancelled for the last two years because of Coronavirus, Camilla also visited the Cornwall Cider Championships stand, while also sampling some of the cider herself.

Husband Prince Charles, who this week presented Sir David Attenborough with his second knighthood, also joined Camilla later as they both sampled other alcohol from different stands and watched the Grand Parade of Livestock.
Camilla Parker Bowles, who was dressed in a chic cream blazer and skirt combo for the event, helped Charles present The Duke of Cornwall's Award for Farm Diversity.
The royal couple has had a busy couple of weeks - with numerous events for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations - including Jubilee street parties, the Thanksgiving service and also the Jubilee concerts last weekend.
In his speech, at the concert, Prince Charles said, "We think of all you have done to make the Commonwealth such an important force for good. You continue to make history.
"But I know what really gets my mother up in the morning is all of you, ladies and gentlemen, all of you watching at home, represented here tonight in this great audience."
