Have you been back in a beauty salon since lockdown?
After mastering a DIY facial, gel nails and home pedicures many of us couldn’t wait to get back to the professionals when restrictions eased. Despite an initial 1890% surge in bookings the week salons reopened, many are still struggling to recover from months of closure. But a new Treatwell discount scheme is here to give the beauty industry a boost.
What is the Treatwell discount scheme?
Billed as the beauty industry’s answer to Eat Out to Help Out, 2020 2.0 is a two-week promotion by beauty bookings app Treatwell offering discounts up to 30%.
Much like the Government's restaurant-supporting scheme, Treatwell are covering the cost of the discounts they are offering. This ensures that salons get the boost they need and entice customers with discounts, but won't take a financial hit.
So, how does it work? Simply download the app or visit the Treatwell website to see the Treatwell discount of the day on a variety of beauty therapies. You can use the app or site to book into a local salon to enjoy your favourite beauty treatment with significant savings.
A new offer and discount code will be revealed every 48 hours. Think everything from massage, manis and pedis and facials - so it’s worth checking in to see if your favourite treat is on offer.
Sinead Gibbons, Senior Communications Manager at Treatwell has said of the scheme, “Treatwell are funding the 2020 2.0 campaign to aid the recovery of UK salons and spas. We’re hoping that customers will be excited to book, it’s a great opportunity to book in for treatments they’ve not yet tried to support their local hair or beauty salon in reopening and recovering.”

As woman&home's Senior Beauty Editor, Fiona Mckim has tried more products than she’s had hot dinners and nothing makes her happier than raving about a brilliant beauty find on womanandhome.com or her instagram grid (@fionamckim if you like hair dye experiments and cute shih-tzus)
Fiona joined woman&home as Assistant Beauty Editor in 2013, working under legend Jo GB, who taught her everything she needed to know about the industry (clue: learn about ingredients and employ extreme cynicism).
In a previous life, Fiona studied journalism back home in bonnie Scotland and honed her skills as a magazine features writer, with a brief and terrifying stint on the showbiz gossip pages of a tabloid newspaper in between. She's a skincare fanatic who can’t resist adding an extra step to her routine if it’s all the rage in Japan, loves fragrance, has fun with makeup and never turns down the chance to test a new hair tool. Basically, she loves it all.
When not slathering herself in self tan or squinting at a tiny ingredients list on a moisturiser, you’ll probably find Fiona enjoying something to do with food - cooking it, eating it, cajoling her friends into trekking across London to try a hyped pop-up in a dirty car park.
