According to a recent survey by cult British skincare brand Liz Earle, 86% of women believe spending time in nature is a good way of relieving life’s pressures and worries. And with our lives busier than ever juggling work, family and friends (not to mention the stress caused by being constantly connected to our tech) we all need a bit of a break.
The same study also found that not only do women count getting outside one of the best ways to boost their mood on a bad day, a quarter say they connect to nature by using skincare made from natural ingredients.
Motivated by their findings, Liz Earle have just announced a new partnership with Go Jauntly. A clever company with community at it’s heart, Go Jauntly is a free walking app designed to help city dwellers wander outside of their normal surroundings and reconnect with nature.
Having collaborated to tailor twelve bespoke walks with Go Jauntly, Liz Earle have one aim – to get women across the UK to get back to nature in order to improve their physical and mental wellbeing.
Nine of the walking routes (in London, the Isle of Wight, Nottingham, Bath and Edinburgh) will include a full audio commentary with snippets of botanical wisdom from Liz Earle Ambassador and Ethnobotanist James Wong. So you can swot up on your plant-based knowledge whilst out and about.
James explains, ‘At Liz Earle we have always believed that a gentle skincare routine combined with a healthy lifestyle is nature’s secret to achieving radiantly healthy-looking skin. However research is incredibly supporting the positive effects of being in nature for both our physical and mental wellbeing, as well as our skin.’
