Rosie Huntington-Whiteley just revealed the best hair drying hack
Wake up with a salon-worthy blowout.
The only thing better than supermodel-approved beauty tricks is a minimal effort hair style. Now our appetite for both has been satisfied with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's hair drying hack.
Yesterday she took to YouTube to share a breakdown of her favourite hair products. And, while she was discussing her favourite overnight serum, she also shared a genius tip for how to use it as a DIY overnight air-drying treatment. Something we can all get on board with if we want a low-maintenance look and to break up from the best hair dryer for a day or two.
"So, this product is one of my all time favourites. I can't remember if I've mentioned this product before in any of my videos...but this is Shu Uemura's Essence Absolue, it is a nourishing and taming overnight serum. It smells incredible, it's got Japanese red camellia in it, and I like to apply this either on wet or dry hair."
Camellia oil is known to replenish the lipid layer on the surface of the hair - the part that makes strands shiny. According to Steve Shiel, L'Oreal UK's scientific advisor, it contains a large amount of oleic acid - around 85-90 per cent - and that helps to recreate the reparative properties of your hair's own oil.
As for the hair-drying hack in question:
"So I find when I let my hair naturally dry, if I just wear it down and let it naturally dry, it dries kind of like stringy and crispy, and dry, so if I don't have time to dry my hair in the evening I like to apply this through the roots, tie it back in a tight bun and go to bed, and in the morning it's usually dry. And when I let it down, it has a sort of, nice, natural 'bend' to it...It feels like it's doing the work for you overnight."
