Meghan Markle has made a return to social media, and her account has already racked up plenty of followers.
But it’s not just Meghan – after announcing an official split from Catherine and Prince William’s royal household, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have launch their own, joint Instagram profile, which is already proving to a hit with royal fans.
The official Kensington Palace profile, which used to house the ‘Fab Four’, announced the exciting news, which a blue image that read, ‘OFFICIAL INSTAGRAM for their ROYAL HIGHNESSES the DUKE and DUCHESS of SUSSEX.’
T he post was captioned ‘”Welcome to Instagram, SussexRoyal! Follow for more on the work of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex 👉 https://www.instagram.com/sussexroyal,’ and also featured the couple’s own joint royal crest.
The happy couple, who are expecting their first child together, shared the image on their new profile too – along with several other photos from the past 12 months.
The photos included a never-before seen image of Prince Harry and Meghan during their royal tour of Fiji, as they waved to fans from the balcony of their hotel. You can see the full Instagram post HERE.
The Duke and Duchess shared a message on their new account, writing, ‘Welcome to our official Instagram; we look forward to sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements, and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues,” they wrote alongside the post.
‘We thank you for your support, and welcome you to @sussexroyal.- Harry & Meghan.’
Followers were delighted to see 37-year-old Meghan returning to the picture sharing site. But surprisingly, another member of the royal family also seemed happy to have her cousins on their own social media.
Princess Eugenie shared a picture of Harry and Meghan on her Instagram to welcome them, alongside the sweet caption, ‘Welcome cousins. @sussexroyal’.

The former Suits actress had her own personal Instagram account when she first started dating Prince Harry, but it was disabled after the pair announced their engagement.
Fans were delighted to see her on social media again, with one fan writing, “Finally! Welcome, perfect timing ❤️”
A second person wrote, “Happy to have both of you here! Can’t wait to see more of the amazing work you do worldwide ❤️” while a third added, “Finally! We Love You Two so much!!!!!!! ✨👑🕊♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️”
The couple will no doubt use the profile to share snaps of their newborn child, with Meghan rumoured to be due this month.
Harry, 34, and Meghan are keeping a low profile whilst waiting for their baby to arrive and for their move to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor to be completed.
