Prince Harry was reportedly left ‘saddened and disappointed’ after he was left out of a memorial event that he had intended to go to but was uninvited from the event.

Authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand have released the epilogue to their unauthorized biography about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Finding Freedom

The new epilogue looks at the last year since Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have left their roles as senior members of the royal family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have distanced themselves from this publication and their legal team has claimed that the royal couple, “did not collaborate with the authors on the book, nor were they interviewed for it."

In the new epilogue, the authors discuss Prince Harry's reaction to being uninvited from the annual memorial event in London where the royal family remembers fallen military men who have died in the line of duty.

They write that Harry had a wreath prepared for the event, “but as the day came and went, Harry’s gesture remained in its box at the charity’s headquarters in Kent.”

Scobie and Durand add that the royal family made the decision to uninvite Harry because he was no longer a “frontline royal.” A “close source” to the Duke added that he was “saddened and disappointed by the decision”.

The source also revealed that this was particularly hard for the Prince because of his dedication to his duty and time spent in the military. When Meghan and Prince Harry ‘stepped back’ as senior members of the royal family and become ‘financially independent’, Prince Harry was stripped of his military titles which included Captain General of the Royal Marines.

“Ten years of service and a lifetime commitment to the military community and this is how it’s been acknowledged by his family,” said the source.

The epilogue also discussed Prince Harry's relationship with his brother Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge.

The authors allege that Prince William was 'furious' with Harry following his explosive interview with Oprah. In this interview shocking comments about Archie made Oprah gasp in horror during Harry and Meghan interview.

The authors revealed that a source told them Prince William, "was understood to be ‘furious’ that private family matters were being discussed in the public domain.”

It has also been reported that Prince Harry and Meghan’s ‘heartbreak’ at Prince Philip’s death will be explored in the new Finding Freedom epilogue. Prince Philip died aged 99 at Windsor Castle in April 2021, so the update will look at the fallout following his death in the past few months.

The epilogue is expected to be released on 31st August 2021.
