Duchess Camilla has praised the “very natural” Kate Middleton as she revealed how she gained Prince Charles’ approval with their new joint project.

Just like so many senior members of the extended Royal Family, the Duchess of Cornwall has had an incredibly busy year so far as they marked the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year. And alongside tours, events and supporting her patronages, the future Queen Consort has also showcased her creativity with a personal project.

Ahead of her 75th birthday on July 17th, Duchess Camilla became the third Royal Guest Editor of Country Life magazine, following on from two of the Queen’s children, Prince Charles and Princess Anne, who edited issues for their 70th birthdays. Her special issue went on sale on Wednesday July 13th and saw Duchess Camilla captured by Kate Middleton in some truly stunning photos.

Already known as a keen photographer, the Duchess of Cambridge has been praised by her stepmother-in-law for her “very natural” approach.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Duchess Camilla got candid about the photoshoot in ITV’s Camilla’s Country Life. This insightful documentary is set to air on the evening of her special edition’s publication day and the Duchess of Cornwall was quick to reveal how much “fun” she and Kate had.

“They are very good pictures. She does it very naturally. We had a lot of fun doing it,” she said. It was very relaxed and very kind that the Duchess of Cambridge came with her camera - she is an extremely good photographer. It was all very casual.”

Although the Duchess of Cambridge’s make-up and skincare products are well known, for the new pictures she and Duchess Camilla opted for a very natural look.

“There wasn't much hair or make-up,” Duchess Camilla continued. “It was just done in the garden with a lot of laughs. It was a lovely way of doing it.'

This relaxed and “casual” approach certainly achieved some stand-out snaps of Duchess Camilla in the garden of her Ray Mill House home in Wiltshire. Beaming in a floral dress, her happiness was clear for all to see and it wasn’t just fans who’ve been bowled over by Kate’s pictures.

Pointing to one photo in particular, Duchess Camilla reportedly declared on the ITV documentary, “This is the one I know that my husband approves of. Catherine said if anything else needed to be done she would be happy to. If I can get over the fact I’m looking at myself, I think they are very nice and just what is needed for Country Life.”

So it seems Prince Charles is also seriously delighted with the results of Duchess Camilla and Duchess Kate’s collaboration for these beautiful pictures. Over the years plenty of Kate Middleton’s pictures have been shared, from the photo of the Queen’s great-grandchildren taken at Balmoral in 2018, to the Cambridge’s birthday tributes to their children.

Now having had such a high-profile commission, fans might well be hoping to be treated to even more royal snaps from the Duchess of Cambridge going forwards.
