Wordle 459, the latest challenge from the New York Times has stumped a number of players who struggled to solve today's game

Wordle 459 has stumped a number of players who struggled to work out the tricky challenge set by the New York Times on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. 

Wordle has been known to throw players a few curveballs, and words such as; leerycoylyquart, and agape have caused a lot of frustration for fans in the past. Yet again fans have been completely stumped by another tricky challenge.

The answer to the Wordle challenge on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 was 'recap'. The word divided fans and while some figured out this challenge without breaking a sweat, others found this to be a very tricky challenge. 

"Wordle 459 6/6* I am really struggling with Wordle these days. Two fails in the last week. And nearly another #Wordle #Wordle459," said one player who solved this game by the skin of their teeth. 

"I know the term, but I didn't know it was considered a word. #Wordle459 Wordle 459 4/6*" said one player who wasn't sure that 'recap' was even an official word.

"Wordle 459 5/6 This was exasperating. #Wordle #Wordle459," said another.

Others argued that this challenge was totally easy, "'Impressive'! This took just under 1 minute. Nice one! Good luck my friends. #Wordle459 Wordle 459 3/6" said one player who solved the game in no time at all. 

"Aced this one!! Wordle 459 2/6 #Wordle459," said another player who was not afraid of a little online bragging about their impressive score.

Recap definition

The word 'recap' stumped players because many were unfamiliar with it, or unsure if it was a proper word, so what does recap mean? The word 'recap' is a verb that is defined as, 'to repeat the main points of an explanation or a description.' Synonyms of the word are summary, sum up, review, or a run down.  

Examples from the Cambridge dictionary include, "finally, the teacher recapped the main points of the lesson" and "to recap, our main aim is to increase sales by 15 percent this year."
