A TikTok carpet cleaning hack using an electric sander and handheld vacuum has sent many fans into overdrive as they cannot believe how much dust the trick shakes out.

If you're the kind of person who wonders how to deep clean a carpet or how to get stains out of a carpet, you've probably found yourself scrolling through cleaning TikTok. The social media platform provides endless entertainment as well as invaluable, creative tricks to make your home sparkle.

TikToker littleseatsecrets, real name Amanda Rowan-Miletich, recently videoed herself using a handheld sander and vacuum cleaner to get the dust out of the staircase runner in her home.

Now, before you start worrying about accidentally sanding through your beautiful plush rug, the sander is used WITHOUT the actual sandpaper pads on the device. This means that, when it's turned on, the machine's vibrations blast the dust out of the carpet.

An astute cleaning fan commented on the video, "I love this cause it actually works, doesn't damage it and looks like it if anything makes less work overtime plus peace of mind."

Sounds like magic, right? Well, it looks like it too. In the video, clouds of dust reverberate from the carpet, as a handheld vacuum collects it. Amanda explains her shock, especially as she vacuums every day! Some users pointed out, however, that even the best cordless vacuum cleaners don't quite cut it as much as one you plug in.

Although it's pretty gross, there's no denying how satisfying the whole thing is at getting rid of dust in your home

"OMG this is so satisfying to watch," commented one fan of the method. "I saw a car cleaner take a massager to the car floor to do the same."

Another TikTok user commented, "But I deep clean my carpets every 6 months with a carpet cleaner, I wonder what results I would get *runs to the shops*"
