Nigella Lawson receives a BAFTA nomination for her unusual pronunciation of ‘microwave’
Nigella Lawson’s ‘mee-crow-wah-vey’ moment has been nominated for a BAFTA
Nigella Lawson went viral earlier this year for her unusual pronunciation of ‘microwave’ and fans loved it so much they’ve nominated her for a BAFTA.
Nigella Lawson became a viral sensation when she mispronounced the word ‘microwave’ in her BBC2 series Cook, Eat, Repeat. Nigella pronunciation of ‘microwave’ as ‘mee-crow-wah-vey’ was such a hit that she has now been nominated for a BAFTA.
Fans have found this nomination hilarious and many have taken to social media to share their delight. One fan said, “Sorry but the Nigella Lawson mee-crow-wah-vey being nominated for a BAFTA has honestly made my week.” Another said, “I'm actually howling. Nigella Lawson saying mee-crow-wah-vey has been nominated for the BAFTA must-see moment. As it should.”

Who else is up for a BAFTA?
Diversity’s performance on Britain’s Got Talent has also been nominated for this BAFTA. The dance group performed a routine in honor of the Black Lives Matter movement, which received a huge number of Ofcom complaints.
Netflix’s Bridgerton also received a nomination for this award. The ‘must-see moment’ in Bridgerton was awarded to the scene that reveals the true identity of Lady Whistledown. The actress behind Penelope Featherington and Lady Whistledown, Nicola Coughlan, took to social media to celebrate the nomination.
