Kim Cattrall had something of a Sex and the City reunion recently, but before fans get too excited, it’s not quite a return to Samantha Jones.

As the outspoken, outrageous Samantha, Kin Cattrall was the very epitome of glamorous, so it won’t come as much of a surprise that the lauded actress is preparing to star in a new series called Glamorous.

Ahead of the series beginning filming, Kim took to her Instagram to reveal that the show will act as a mini Sex and the City reunion.

Award-winning costume designer, stylist and fashion designer Patricia Field will work on the new Netflix show with Kim, and Patricia was responsible for many of the iconic looks on Sex and the City.

Sex and the City became famous for its often out-there fashion, particularly the outfits worn by Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw – and most of those looks were the work of Patricia.

For her work on Sex and the City, Patricia was nominated for five Emmy Awards, with one win, and nominated for six Costume Designers Guild awards, with four wins.

Describing her time on the series, Patricia has previously said, “They made a pilot, and nobody liked the clothes. And Sarah Jessica just grabbed me and said, ‘I want to introduce you to Darren Star’ [creator of Sex and the City.]”

“She knew my vibe. She understood the tutu. She was great to work with because she loved fashion … [We were] two peas in a pod.”

Patricia, like Kim, didn’t return for the Sex and the City reboot, And Just Like That, as she was busy working on Netflix’s Emily in Paris.

Fans of Patricia’s fashion sense will be looking forward to what she comes up with in Kim’s new show.

Glamorous will the story of Marco Mejia (played by actor, singer and YouTuber Miss Benny), a gender non-conforming queer person who goes to work for cosmetics queen Madolyn Addison, Kim’s character.

While Kim films her new series, many fans will still be hoping for a surprise return of Samantha Jones.

Kim received five Emmy nominations for her portrait of Samantha, and later appeared in the two movies, however, she decided to step back from the character after passing on the script for the third movie in 2017.

The series explained Samantha’s disappearance but with And Just Like That season two confirmed, a Samantha Jones return has already been teased.
