Cameron Diaz may perhaps be best known for her roles in films such as There’s Something About Mary, The Holiday and Charlie’s Angels, but it seems her cooking skills are pretty impressive too.

Now the Hollywood star has reportedly quit acting for good, having recently opened up about feeling ‘blessed’ to be a mother after she and her husband Benji Madden welcomed their daughter Raddix. And when it comes to what she cooks for herself and her family, it seems that Cameron isn’t afraid to be a bit experimental.

Taking to Instagram to share the recipe for one of her ultimate go-to meals, Cameron gave fans a cooking tutorial on how to make her ‘Whatever-You-Got Ramen’ - and a few hacks to make it especially yummy. You don’t need to be a cooking professional with the best induction pans to make this delicious dish at home – in fact you don’t even have to have the same ingredients as Cameron!

As she reveals, this ramen recipe is what you make of it and can feature anything and everything you have in your own kitchen cupboards. Thank goodness, because we don't think we could handle another night wondering can you reheat couscous for the third time in a row.

In her caption, Cameron wrote: ‘I call this: Whatever-you-got Ramen! One of my favorite quick go-to meals where I take your classic instant ramen packet and dress it up a bit with whatever vegetables I happen to have in my fridge!’

For those who want to follow Cameron’s recipe exactly, she even revealed in her caption the exact ingredients she uses to make this bowl of deliciousness at home.

‘Below is what I used in my ramen, but feel free to use whatever you have that fits your flavor profile & enjoy!’ she wrote.

You will need:

  • 2 ramen insta packs (Flavors: Lemongrass ginger & Garlic pepper)

  • About 1/2 cup each of diced carrot, celery, shiitake mushrooms, broccoli
  • About 1 tablespoon each of diced garlic, shallot, ginger & crunchy garlic chili sauce

  • 1 egg
  • Juice from 1/2 a lime
  • 1 tsp of rice vinegar
  • Roughly chopped cilantro to finish

But when it comes to making this recipe as delicious as possible, Cameron also had a few unexpected twists up her sleeve.

‘Instead of water, as instructed on the insta packets of ramen, I use a stock. So I usually love a chicken stock, you can use a vegetable stock, you can use beef stock, use whatever stock you want,’ she explained to her Instagram followers.

‘I feel like that's part of my success in this whole thing, it's like flavor layering, you know?’

Going on to joke that she’s ‘crazy like that’, Cameron also revealed that she uses two different packets of instant ramen – lemongrass and ginger and garlic and pepper to inject even more flavor.

Whether you choose to recreate Cameron’s version or you’re tempted to switch things up to suit your taste, this is definitely one versatile recipe!

Will you be making it at home?
