Best kids' Easter eggs: The woman&home taste test

Our trusted food experts in the Test Kitchen have selected their favourite Easter eggs for children. They tested plenty of eggs in their hunt for the best Easter eggs and there's some classics alongside some beautiful handcrafted chocolate treats in their kids selection.  

Whether you're creating an exciting Easter egg hunt or want to give them a little treat, this list has you covered.

Best kids' Easter Eggs

A sweet little egg that's as cute as a button with delicious milk chocolate that's well flavoured and not too sweet. The buttons are tasty and are stuck on with white chocolate which adds another flavour and some sweetness.

Great for younger kids as they are split into three smaller shapes so you can stop a youngster from eating them all in one session! The three chocolate animals come in White chocolate (Wooliam), caramel-milk (Elizapeck) and 40% milk chocolate (Rabbert). They would also make a fun adult gift if you wanted them to have something a little different.

This is a fab egg that tastes delicious and has a lovely story. Chococo are based in Dorset on the Jurassic Coast and this is them paying homage to the area through an Easter egg. 

This was truly delicious. The milk chocolate buttons are silky smooth and have the perfect shine to them. The organic milk chocolate used to make Clucky, the cute chick, is the perfect mix of milky and sweet with a perfect cocoa flavour. Sweet enough for children and grown-up enough for adults.

A cute little dog made out of chocolate - what more does a child (or adult) want this Easter? The chocolate is not too sweet and there's a cute little darker chocolate nose. And the packaging is made to look like a little kennel - we are in chocolate doggy heaven!

This is a lovely idea and one that's becoming increasingly popular. It's a great way to get the kids involved in Easter. 16 Lindt milk chocolate products including bunnies and eggs - enough for a few children or to keep one SUPER busy. They've even got cut out clues on the packaging to help guide the children to (or away!) from the eggs.

Totally cute and perfect for a child at Easter. The chocolate hen is good quality and not overly sweet as some children's eggs can be. The addition of the speckled mini eggs is a lovely way of bringing the hen to life and adding a little something extra.

Easter wouldn't be the same without chocolate and chocolate wouldn't be the same without Cadbury! Buttons are the classic choice and this is a great little egg with a packet of buttons.

These are fab! Perfectly sized for kids and split in to two so they don't feel they have to eat a whole egg. The chocolate is really tasty - it's sweet but not overly so for children's chocolate. Also coated in chocolate flakes which add some extra flavour and texture. The eyes are made from white chocolate and are super fun and yummy!

A lovely little egg made from 40% milk chocolate which makes it feel grown up but also good for children. It's a great little one (at 150g) but not the cheapest one out there. It's also available in dark, white and vegan chocolate options.

This is a great little option for kids. All types of chocolate in one place and enough to get them out in the garden or going round the house on a little search for them. Lots of fun in one box!

A whole hutch of mini Lindt bunnies. A great way to make Easter last longer and to give a child a little bit of chocolate at a time without feeling guilt. Made using the creamy, smooth Lindt chocolate - yum.

This is extremely cute and having it made from Dairy Milk is lovely, too. It's also a nice way to introduce children to the world of Beatrix Potter if they don't already know it.
