Meet the Reader Approved Kitchen Award winners
From culinary game-changers to time-saving gadgets, here are the award-winning products in our kitchen category
A kitchen gadget doesn’t have to be flashy to earn its place on your worktop. But the real test comes when everyone’s hungry, the worktop is covered in ingredients, and the dishwasher is already full.
So, which kitchen buys actually make life easier?
For the second category of our brand new Reader Approved Awards, we’ve turned our attention to the kitchen and, once again, handed the testing over to the women who know exactly what a busy kitchen looks like. Because while glossy studio testing has its place, nothing beats seeing how a product performs day in, day out, in a real home.
Once again, our brilliant woman&home Tester Network put some of the UK’s biggest kitchen tools, gadgets and appliances through their paces. They cooked with them, cleaned them, lived with them and, crucially, judged whether they were genuinely worth the money.
From clever kitchen buys at wallet-friendly prices to premium appliances promising to transform your daily routine, our testers put them all to the ultimate test. These aren’t just products we think you’ll love. They’re the kitchen heroes our readers have tried, tested and approved.

Best everyday blender
A powerful personal blender that makes light work of tough ingredients, without creating extra washing up
The Nutribullet Turbo is designed to take the hassle out of everyday blending – the perfect upgrade if your morning smoothie prep usually involves stopping to stir, shake or scrape the sides. Its powerful 1000W motor and upgraded Rapid Extractor Blade can tackle everything from frozen fruit, ice and leafy greens to nuts and seeds, helping you achieve smooth, consistent results quickly. Our testers particularly liked how simple it is to use. Attach the cup, twist it onto the base, and the blender automatically runs a 45-second cycle, so there’s no need to stand over it or guess how much longer your ingredients need. It comes with two blending cups – a 700ml and a 590ml – and a Flip Top To-Go Lid so you can easily blend your smoothie and take it with you.
And it doesn’t just excel at breakfast. Our tester found it a versatile kitchen addition that can handle everything from quick breakfasts to dips and snacks.
Our featured tester said: “A significant upgrade from previous iterations, this Nutribullet blends and chops noticeably faster. The suction feet keep it perfectly stable on the counter, and the 45-second automatic shutoff is an excellent, time-saving feature. It effortlessly handled a tough smoothie with nuts and seeds, as well as homemade hummus. Plus, it's incredibly easy to clean – the cups are top-rack dishwasher-safe – and the travel lid is completely leak-proof. I highly recommend it.”
With strong suction feet to keep the blender firmly in place, a handy automatic shutoff and dishwasher-safe cups, it solves some of the biggest everyday frustrations with personal blenders: mess, noise and faffing around with complicated settings. And when you're finished, there's minimal clean-up.

A powerful blender that makes short work of ice, soups and everyday smoothies
If you want a blender that prioritises performance above all else, the Ninja BlendBOSS is for you. Its 1100W motor is built to tackle tough ingredients at speed, crushing ice in seconds and blending everything from frozen fruit to silky soups with ease.
It’s particularly useful when you want to make something quickly without having to stop and scrape, stir or shake the ingredients. The three Auto-iQ programmes – Smoothie, Blend & Crush – take the guesswork out of blending, while a manual Pulse setting gives you more control when you need it.
Our tester also appreciated the practical details. The removable 710ml travel tumbler lets you blend directly into the cup, then switch to the leak-proof lid and straw when you’re ready to take your drink with you. Strong suction feet keep the base firmly in place, while the cup and straw attachment are easy to wash afterwards.
Our featured tester said: “As a long-time blender user, I was eager to test the Blend Boss. While its chunky design means it probably won't live on my countertop, its performance is undeniable. It is incredibly fast, easily handling everything from hot soups to crushed ice. It effortlessly blends my daily smoothies, stays firmly in place thanks to strong suction feet, and features an easy-to-clean cup and straw attachment that puts my old blender to shame.”
It may be chunkier and louder than some personal blenders, but where it really counts, the BlendBOSS delivers. From crushing ice and blitzing frozen fruit to making smooth soups and speedy morning drinks, its combination of power, preset programmes and easy clean-up makes it a highly effective everyday blender.

A premium cookware set built for everything from quick omelettes to restaurant-worthy searing
Whether you’re whipping up a fluffy omelette, searing a steak for two or cooking for a crowd, this versatile cookware set is designed to handle it all. Combining the durability of stainless steel and cast iron with the ease of non-stick cooking, it gives you the flexibility to tackle a much wider range of dishes with less fuss.
Its distinctive hexagonal steel ridges provide excellent searing power while helping the pans withstand everyday use, and the proprietary TerraBond™ ceramic non-stick coating is free from forever chemicals and makes both cooking and cleaning easier. The tri-ply construction, with an aluminium core, also means the pans heat quickly and evenly, helping to prevent frustrating hot spots and ensuring food cooks consistently.
They’re designed to be as practical as they are hardworking, too. The pans are metal utensil-safe, dishwasher-safe, and oven-safe up to 480°C, while the stay-cool stainless steel handles are comfortable to hold. The matching tempered glass lid has steam vents and can go in the oven up to 200°C.
Our featured tester said: “I was initially hesitant about the pre-use seasoning process and non-stick design, but these pans completely won me over. They are chemical-free, incredibly simple to prep, and perform beautifully. The even heat distribution cooks food faster, and the cleanup is an absolute breeze – a real lifesaver in a busy household. They are a premium purchase, but with their exceptional build quality and 10-year warranty, they are a genuine investment for your kitchen.”
They’re weighty and come with a premium price tag, so they’re not the obvious choice if you’re looking for lightweight, budget-friendly cookware. But testers felt the exceptional build quality, versatile design and 10-year warranty made them a genuine long-term investment – particularly for anyone who loves to cook and wants cookware that can keep up.

A clever, space-saving scale that takes the hassle out of precise weighing
If you love cooking but could do without the clutter, extra washing up and fiddly measuring that comes with following a recipe, this compact kitchen scale is a clever little upgrade. Despite its slim design, it packs in two weighing platforms, making it versatile enough for everything from large batches to tiny quantities.
The larger 5kg platform is ideal for everyday baking, batch cooking and weighing multiple ingredients, while the separate 500g precision platform is perfect for smaller measurements where accuracy really matters. And thanks to the handy ‘Add & Weigh’ tare function, you can measure several ingredients in the same bowl, resetting the scale between each one rather than reaching for a new bowl every time – meaning less washing up at the end.
It also removes the need for a separate measuring jug when working with liquids. The built-in Aquatronic function lets you measure milk, oil and water directly on the scale, with measurements displayed clearly on the LED screen in kg, lb, ml or fl oz.
Our featured tester said: “A brilliant, space-saving addition to any kitchen. The easy-to-read digital display and secondary scale for smaller, precise measurements make it incredibly versatile. It effortlessly switches to measure liquids and tucks neatly into a drawer. It looks far more expensive than it actually is!”
With its durable stainless-steel surface, compact footprint and clever multi-function design, this is a scale that solves several common kitchen annoyances in one go: too many gadgets, too much washing up and awkwardly measuring small or liquid ingredients.
Best of all, it’s easy to store away when you’re finished. For something so small, testers felt it delivered an impressive amount of functionality – and thought it looked considerably more expensive than its price tag suggests.

A hardworking set of kitchen essentials that makes everyday prep quicker and easier
The right kitchen tools can make all the difference when you’re trying to get dinner on the table fast. This four-piece set brings together some of the essentials you’re likely to reach for again and again: a grater, Y-shaped peeler, can opener and garlic press.
Made from durable stainless steel, the tools feel sturdy enough for regular use, while the ergonomic soft-grip handles provide a comfortable, non-slip hold. The sharp Y-peeler makes quick work of vegetables, the grater is ideal for everything from cheese to zest, and the can opener tackles tins without requiring excessive effort.
But it was the garlic press that really impressed our tester. Rather than leaving behind half the clove or becoming clogged and difficult to clean, it efficiently extracts the garlic with minimal fuss – exactly the sort of small detail that can make a noticeable difference when you’re cooking regularly.
Our featured tester said: “I was incredibly impressed by the robust, premium feel of this utensil set. Every item performs exceptionally well, from the razor-sharp Y-peeler to the effortless fine grater. The absolute standout is the garlic press, which extracts perfectly without clogging up. Everything is dishwasher-safe, making this an outstanding, high-quality buy for any kitchen.”
And when the prep is over, there’s no need to stand at the sink scrubbing each tool by hand. Every piece is dishwasher-safe, making the set particularly well suited to busy kitchens where convenience matters just as much as performance.
For a relatively small investment, you get four genuinely useful tools that feel built to last, perform reliably and are easy to clean. It’s a practical upgrade for any kitchen – without taking up much space or costing a fortune.
