What happens when two iconic brands join forces to create a unique shoe line meant to disrupt the fashion industry? The Internet goes ga-ga over it!

Following recent collections produced with Dior and Jill Sander, fan-favorite footwear brand Birkenstock has announced a new collaboration with what many believe to be the high-end shoe designer par excellence: Manolo Blahnik.

One of the best shoe trends for 2022, the classic slip-on clogs with round-toe design features a shimmering crystal buckle that the brand is known for—sign up for the wait-list now!

The new line features six styles, three takes on the Birkenstock Arizona sandal and three versions of the Boston clog. They all boast Birkenstock's renowned buckles and Manolo Blahnik's crystal embellishments and come in three different colors: black leather, velvet blue and velvet fuchsia. As an add-on, customers who buy a pair will also receive an exclusive polka-dot shoe box and dust bag.

Price-wise, you're looking at $750-$810 per pair and, although you're probably ready to go shopping already, you're going to have to wait until this afternoon's official launch of the collection at all Manolo Blahnik stores and the brand's website.

"Birkenstocks have been in my wardrobe since the very beginning [of time]," Manolo said in an official statement about the collaboration. "I have loved and worn mine for many years. I am thrilled that we have been able to collaborate, fusing the Manolo Blahnik aesthetic with the everyday comfort of Birkenstocks is simply wonderful."

Oliver Reichert, the chief executive officer of Birkenstock, echoed his partner's sentiments. "We are delighted to collaborate with Manolo Blahnik, whose unrivaled craftsmanship has long set the bar for shoemaking," he said. "This is a unique collection, fusing our trademark designs with the flair of Manolo Blahnik, to create pieces that embrace a bold and directional aesthetic that takes both to a new level."

Given the excitement surrounding the announcement of the partnership, we would not be shocked if all shoes were to sell out just a few hours after the drop. If that happens and you can’t get your hands (well, feet) on a pair, do not fret: a second group of styles will be released in June of this year. Mark your calendars for that release as well.
