Apple and cinnamon flapjacks recipe

Ingredients

  • 225 (8oz ) butter
  • 225 (8oz) caster sugar
  • 175g (6oz) golden syrup
  • 450g (1 lb ) porridge oats
  • 2 eating apples, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Preparation

  1. Set oven to 180c.160fan/gas 4.  Line the base of a 20x30cm cake tin with baking parchment.
  2. Melt the butter , caster sugar and golden syrup together in a medium pan, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. 3 Remove from the heat and stir in the oats, and chopped apple and cinnamon then spread the mixture into the tin and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden. Leave until cold before turning out of the tin. Cut into bars.
