Strictly's Giovanni Pernice breaks silence on dating rumors as fans urge him and Rose Ayling-Ellis to 'get together'

Strictly’s Giovanni Pernice has finally broken his silence as speculation grew over his bond with a popular Made in Chelsea star, but fans are eager to see him and Rose Ayling-Ellis “get together” instead.

The Strictly Come Dancing final is now just weeks away and if the Bookmakers’ favorites are anything to go on, it seems Giovanni Pernice and Rose Ayling-Elllis have a seriously good chance of lifting that glitterball trophy. The couple have gone from strength to strength, impressing each of the Strictly Come Dancing 2021 judges throughout their time on the hit show. But whilst their dance performance has captured viewers’ imagination, Giovanni’s romantic life has also been getting a fair amount of attention these past few weeks.

The Italian professional dancer had been linked to Made in Chelsea star Verity Bowditch, after claims emerged that they had been spotted out together. Now, however, Strictly’s Giovanni Pernice has appeared to dismiss these allegations, taking to Instagram Stories to reveal that it’s a surprise to him that he’s apparently dating Verity. 

As reported by Digital Spy, he wrote simply, “Always wanting to speak the truth over here. It's news to me that I am dating, didn't know anything about it”.

"At the moment, as you know it's all about dance dance dance which is wonderfullll daaaaarling”, he went on, seemingly referencing Strictly’s Craig Revel Horwood’s signature phrase. “That's the reality, no drama here Have a great day – 'THE SUN' is shining! Gio x.”

But whilst Giovanni might not be dating Verity Bowditch after all following his split with Love Island star Maura Higgins just months ago, it seems there’s a clear frontrunner for fans when it comes to his next romantic relationship. 

Ever since the Italian dancer was paired up with EastEnders actor Rose Ayling-Ellis on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, some have suggested that Giovanni has ‘really changed’ over the past 11 weeks. As viewers say a sad goodbye to each couple who left Strictly Come Dancing throughout the weeks, they've come to know and love Giovanni and Rose even more as a partnership. 

Rose herself is understood to be in a loving seven-year relationship with boyfriend Samuel Arnold. But that hasn’t stopped many fans from excitedly expressing just how delighted they’d be to see Rose and Giovanni “get together” at some point.

Taking to Twitter, one fan declared, “If Rose and Giovanni could get together I’d be very happy #StrictlyComeDancing”. 

“Watching Rose & Giovanni is wonderful, he seems to be so caring & gentle with her - wistfully wishing they do get together”, someone else agreed, reflecting on Strictly’s Giovanni and Rose’s wonderful bond. 

Whilst a third person shared, “i’ve never wanted two people to get together more than rose and giovanni”.  

“If Rose and Giovanni don’t get together I think my heart will shatter #StrictlyComeDancing”, a fellow fan declared boldly.  

Meanwhile, another person reflected on the adoring way the professional dancer often looks at Rose, urging, “Pls can Rose and Giovanni get together the way he looks at her just screams love tbh”.  

Whilst Strictly’s Giovanni Pernice and Rose Ayling-Ellis might not currently be a romantic couple, despite fans’ urging, their friendship and dancefloor chemistry has made them one to watch in the competition. 

From last week’s passionate Paso Doble to their powerful Couple’s Choice dance, which featured a moving silent moment, their stand-out performances are expected to see them earn a coveted place in the final.
