Sadly nominees will have to hold off from popping bottles just yet as the Grammy Awards have been postponed due to a spike in COVID cases in Los Angeles.
The award ceremony was due to take place at the end of this month on January 31. However, the organizers of the event have made the decision to move the event to March 14, 2021.

When will the Grammys take place?
This event will be the 63rd Grammy Awards Ceremony and will still be held in Los Angeles with hopes that the COVID-19 situation will have improved in that area by March.
In a statement made by producer Ben Winston this decision has been made after various “thoughtful conversations with health experts”.
Winston confirms: “After thoughtful conversations with health experts, our host and artists scheduled to appear, we are rescheduling the awards show to March 14th 2021.”
“The deteriorating COVID situation in Los Angeles, with hospital services being overwhelmed, ICUs having reached capacity, and new guidance from state and local governments have all led us to conclude that postponing our show was the right thing to do,”
“Nothing is more important than the health and safety of those in our music community and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly on producing the show. We want to thank all of the talented artists, the staff, our vendors and especially this year’s nominees for their understanding, patience and willingness to work with us as we navigate these unprecedented times.”

Last year’s 61st Grammy Awards ceremony was held on January 26 2020 at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.
The star studded event saw various artists receive accolades.
Lizzo received eight nominations in various categories, making her the most nominated artist at the event.
The artist Finneas won the highest number of awards, with six trophies handed to the performing artist.
Other memorable moments included Alicia Keys' and Boyz II Men's tribute to Kobe Bryant when they teamed up and performed their rendition of “It’s so hard to say Goodbye to Yesterday”.
Billie Eilish also won across the four major award categories: Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Best new artist. This is the first time that this quadruple win in one year has taken place since 1981 when Christopher Cross won the coveted awards.
