Naomi Campbell has been announced as The Queen's Commonwealth Trust Platinum Jubilee Global Ambassador.

The supermodel, who announced earlier this year that she's become a mum with an adorable photograph of her newborn baby, looked utterly ecstatic at an event to announce the news.

Naomi will be working with QCT, an international development charity, as a global ambassador to support young leaders. The trust was founded back in 2018 and aims to support young people across the globe who are pushing for change in their communities. These young people are working in sectors including healthcare, environment, and education.

The announcement, that she's joining the Queen's Commonwealth Trust (QCT), comes after many years of charitable service by the British model.

In a statement, Naomi said, "Regardless of where you are from or where you are now, there are young leaders within your community doing amazing work. Sometimes they are not seen and some of them may not even see themselves as ‘leaders’ yet, but they all deserve our support, and access to education and resources."

As a Platinum Jubilee Global Ambassador, Naomi's role will be to help promote all of the great work of the charity's young leaders as well as boosting the profile of the trust's vital fundraising campaign.

Although this role is new, Naomi is well known for all of her charitable work—especially in the African continent. So much so that the late South African President Nelson Mandela called her his 'honorary granddaughter' for all of her incredible activist work.

"I have been doing the work with empowering young people for over 25 years. This is something very close to my heart and I will continue to do everything I can to uplift the next generation, so they can create a better future for their communities."

The model used her profile to found Fashion For Relief in 2005, which fuses her passion for fashion with her love of giving back. The charity hosts fashion shows to raise money for those in need, including the victims of Typhoon Haiyan and Hurricane Katrina.

In 2022, the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee will celebrate her majesty's 70 years as the UK's monarch. In honor of this huge milestone, the charity is launching a Platinum Jubilee Fund for Young Leaders. This will give more support to entrepreneurs, aged 18—35, across the Commonwealth's 54 countries.
